Wait, so the achievement is just to get Gary Newman to say hes the real gary? How is that recognized in the game?

I also just installed pop os on my 2021 laptop that was struggling with windows 11. It breathed new life into it. The computer is now as snappy as when I first got it

Last time I tried Linux for gaming was over 10 years ago. I know there is proton now which makes it easier etc. But even then I would constantly have issues with sound or drivers or some other thing that made it less “plug and play” than windows. Has this been improved in that time?

I have a laptop thats 16gb ram and Intel iris xe but has chugged since it was forcibly upgraded to windows 11. I want to try Linux to see if day to day things would be more performant, but I dont want to add a bunch of headaches because of it

Edit: thanks all for the great responses. It sounds like I should give it a go

Edit2: I dove into pop os and really happy so far. Better performance doing regular browsing etc. Had to mess around to get Linux howdy to work, but otherwise very seamless. Much much improved since the last time i used Linux.

I would be far more open to mo they subscriptions if I didnt have to pay for the game upfront.

I would probably play wow and pay monthly if i didnt have to pay for the game and all the expansions as well as the subscription.

Just too much money imo for what I would get out of the experience

Samsung puts ads in all their stuff. Dont buy a samsung product with a screen outside of their phones

I dont know that this is the sub where we want to talk about emulation and the stuff that comes with it. Especially when it comes to indie game devs imo

Man, as someone who is not religious at all, some of these rituals are sooo weird to me.

Like making someone a saint not that long after their death. The concept of a saint itself is also weird to me. Its like an honorary degree from a university or an “employee of the month” badge.

I cant put my finger on it, to be honest. Just seems so weird

Interesting theories in this.

My gut was telling me its a frame as in its like steam machine, where its a box, but you can customize the insides etc.

I assume you have, but I’ll call it out in case anyone hasn’t.

Anyone who likes lil gator game should ABSOLUTELY play a short hike. Its a 10/10 masterpiece imo. Really short and no replay value, but so good.

Ah I wasn’t aware but not surprised. Not sure why you’re getting down voted for sharing information. Ahh reddit lemmy

Im skeptical it’ll translate to 3d but I’ll give it a go.

As in, there aren’t discounts? I only ever look st my wishlist during steam sales and I see plenty of discounts and I dont see the msrp having been raised or anything

Is that GOGs own launcher? Why specifically for Linux users?

I read this as “fractured bloons” and was excited for a new bloons tower defense game

Until it gets mass adoption, then the enshitification will begin. Bluesky is still funded by a corporation.

I downloaded unreal, opened it, got overwhelmed and un-installed it.

Pretty happy with godot so far

Games also sell at a much higher volume than they did back then.

Wages have also not kept up with inflation, which is why games at over 100$ would be out of reach as a casual hobby for most.

Grand prix story and game dev tycoon.

Both good games, low stress, clear progression

Yeah i know. I meant more in terms of peope who don’t know the way these two are connected.

Atari has had some very sketchy business practices and screwed over consumers a bunch of times. Most people don’t know they are effectively the same company as infogrames

Guess they ran their brand too far into the ground. Now they gotta dig up another

I’ve been playing a ton of game dev story. To the point where now I want to try my hand at making my own simulation type game in that style

Aren’t there games where the physical disc doesn’t have the entire game on it or won’t even run without a patch? Wouldn’t that effectively be the same thing if they decide to stop providing the patch?

I play my steam deck WAYYYYYY more than my ps5. And quite a bit more than my switch.
