I downloaded unreal, opened it, got overwhelmed and un-installed it.

Pretty happy with godot so far

Games also sell at a much higher volume than they did back then.

Wages have also not kept up with inflation, which is why games at over 100$ would be out of reach as a casual hobby for most.

Grand prix story and game dev tycoon.

Both good games, low stress, clear progression

Yeah i know. I meant more in terms of peope who don’t know the way these two are connected.

Atari has had some very sketchy business practices and screwed over consumers a bunch of times. Most people don’t know they are effectively the same company as infogrames

Guess they ran their brand too far into the ground. Now they gotta dig up another

I’ve been playing a ton of game dev story. To the point where now I want to try my hand at making my own simulation type game in that style

Aren’t there games where the physical disc doesn’t have the entire game on it or won’t even run without a patch? Wouldn’t that effectively be the same thing if they decide to stop providing the patch?

I play my steam deck WAYYYYYY more than my ps5. And quite a bit more than my switch.

You can control the computer but it boots in big picture so you need to escape it to get to the desktop

Or a strong wifi network. I have a bunch of wired access points and was able to get really smooth streaming

It’s really hard for small games to get noticed. Even if they are good.

Ok. I was being hyperbolic. But clearly AA isn’t used nearly as much as “indie” is.

Indie style game?

As inaccurate as it is to talk abojt publisher size, it is helpful to give ideas to aesthetics and budget. I find myself more interested in smaller games like this, so I pay special attention when the term “indie” is used, even if it’s from a big publisher (child of light is another good example)

I just bought it! Maybe I was #3,000,000!

Man. Such a shame those games came out at the same time with effectively the same name

Yep. But they don’t see it that way, which is what makes it dangerous

Part of the problem is a lot of people are indirectly supporting it by being single issue voters and “putting up with” the stuff they don’t like in order to support the one cause they care about.

And some people were annoyed it didn’t win game of the year…

Even saying “oven” as correct threw me off. Ive never called a microwave an oven or a microwave oven. I was like starting to think maybe it wanted a specific brand of oven, or a synonym like stove

Yeah, I was hoping more of a spiritual successor rather than a copy

Now I can sell my older much cheaper 64gb model with a 1tb M.2 drive and buy an oled model

This is alll I ever wanted from steam deck. Time to put my money where my mouth is

With all those people, it sounds like an ultimate showdown about to happen.

I hope Charle Norris stays safe

Most people who are interested in this game don’t know what engine it’s made on, let alone the performance issues inherent to that engine.

Here’s your reminder that atari is a garbage company that does anti consumer shit and don’t support their stuff.

Even if this game looked great, I would avoid it.

Luckily their typical quality makes them easy to avoid for me.

Thank you for posting this. I would have bought it to play on my steam deck
