Is there any working app lock for Android 14 in 2024?
Can anyone tell me why such a basic feature is so hard to find or does not come by default in phones nowadays? Edit : I meant app lock which uses fingerprint or pattern. I want to apply it to Gallery and other apps. I already have Shelter running on my phone and also have secure folder, but that's not what I'm for. Sorry if my question wasn't clear.

So we really have “influencers” for everything.

That ain’t a bad idea and will definitely work out for games that don’t need grinding like Valhalla

Assassin’s Mirage. It’s not good but not bad as well. Better to wait for a sale and complete it ASAP before Ubisoft shuts down the servers in a few years.

It’s a really good game. The visuals and audio are stunning.

Android 14 won’t allow me to delete files from inside other apps except for the file browser
For example, I'm using a mp3 player and as I try to delete songs, it shows a message "Failed to delete file". I have faced similar issues in other apps as well. Is there a work around for this? Also here is the obligatory " fuck you google" Edit : Thanks for explaining everyone. I'll raise the issue with the app developer.

Will check it out.

Edit: This is a really good app. Thanks for the suggestion. I think I’ll stick to this.

Yes the Web UI is fine for most cases, but sometimes it’s a bit easier to navigate through the app. Atleast that’s what I felt.

Any good Github clients for android?
I'm using the official Github app and it keeps logging me out randomly and it's really annoying. Is there any good android app for Github.

So black ops 2.5 with the campaign shorter than a black ops dlc?

Have been waiting for this for a while.

Correction : So much stuff posted across the internet nowadays are garbage and click baits nowadays . It’s not just on lemmy, it’s everywhere.

I’m no expert, but won’t FTP work? Something like Total Commander or some other file browser with FTP feature.

it’s a very closed system with Google , banks and OEMs working together. I doubt it’ll work properly on anything outside stock OEM ROMs.

I just finished Cocoon and it’s a beautiful game with fantastic puzzles.

Development? Are we calling copy pasting, Development now?

Will using Shizuku trip Knox or void warranty or updates on Samsung phones?
I'm thinking of using Shizuku to give root access to Automate app. My doubt is will it backfire in some way. I'm trying to automate enabling and disabling of Work Profile based on a schedule which frustratingly is missing on Samsung. I'm trying to run the adb commands "am stop-user -f 10" using privileged user block in Automate. Can anyone comment on this? Thanks in advance.

Looking forward to the awesome soundtrack.

Very few phones had pop up camera I belive. So that itself narrows down your list. Add removable battery to it, even fewer. 3.5 mm jack, even tinier. SD card slot, maybe you can count on one hand.

It’s Ubisoft. Lower your expectations.

Shelter may have been taken down a while ago, not sure if by Google or the developer. According to the Island developer Island was removed because it's not supposed to use REQUEST_INSTALL_PACKAGES, so it's probably the same for Shelter. They're appealing but if/when it returns it might be "with limited functionality" which one would be able to restore with an "extension" downloaded on github but at that point why not just install the apk from github in the first place. As for Shelter and Insular (fork of Island), they're also available on F-Droid. Wonder if they're cracking down on these "hacks" to leverage the work profile on purpose, like they do local VPNs that block ads.

The One UI 6 beta for the Galaxy S23 adds Opus and LC3 encoders
Mishaal Rahman: LC3 is the standard codec for BLE Audio, while Opus is recommended for head tracked spatial audio due to its low latency. Surprised there's no aptX HD here, though, since Qualcomm submitted the encoder to AOSP
