Thank you, yeah no AI in the code, the music. Just not useful for me

Hmm, I just tried it incognito browser and it opens. Very strange

Thank you, I just tried it and I had sound. It loses sound when I alt + tab and then go back in it comes back. If you can also please leave a review of the demo to help spread the word : )

Thank you, the grain is part of the aesthetic so I’m not sure how good idea it is to remove it.

I don’t know yet, if there is interest. But the full game is not close to being finished

Thank you so much, I really hope you like it! The main narrator has an amazing voice!

Thank you for the kind words : ) So the full game takes place over 7 days and in the end I have planned 10 unique endings. The demo is just the first 2 days so you can get a taste of what the experiment is about. Basically it doesn’t spoil anything. I am amused to read player theories about the story and the indentity of the main narrator tho! Let me know if you are gonna play it because feedback and positive reviews on Steam are always welcomed!

Ah, sorry to hear that. Hope you fix it at some point so you can back to Steam games. I assume this way a lot of the games you own (or rent) are locked too…

Thank you so much! Out of curiosity why can’t you play? Are you at work?

Hello guys, I wanted to announced that I finally released my demo for [The Milgram Experiment](https://store.steampowered.com/app/4394170/The_Milgram_Experiment_Demo/). **One of the inspirations of the game is the book Obedience to Authority by the same scientist. Other big inspirations are Papers, Please; Pools; Sublimnal and the show Severance.** I grew up and still live in Eastern Europe and here we have experience and past with authority and authoritarianism. I mean look at our oppressive architecture: [photo](https://imgur.com/gallery/photo-B4MUF7r) (imgur link) I took yesterday while walking my dog. I guess the subject has always interested me... "While do good people follow evil orders?" The game tests if you obey orders and how does your moral compass work (if at all). I invite you try it and give me feedback. Hope you love it!
fedilink

No, not in the traditional sense. I don’t want to spoil anything else.

Yeah hah, there is something about this line that defines the game for me. One of the first ones I wrote when doing the script

I’m not sure I understand the question, but you get different ending, depending on the choices you make (or refuse to make).

Thank you! The documentary is amazing and I re-watched it several times while developing the game.

Thank you! Yeah, once you get the basic concept and prototype right, after that it’s a bit easier. After the demo is out I’m back to work on the full game : )

Thank you for the kind words. I always had an idea for a game about Milgram and ethical dilemmas. I remember being on a set for a movie with a lot of time between takes and thinking about the script. That was 2-3 years ago. I started serious work this summer with the script and made the demo in 4 months. Around 30% of the game is done. The main inspiration is the book Obedience to Authority by Milgram himself and some videos by Alex O’Connor where he talks about morality and moral dilemmas. For the actual cases in the game I researched some real world horrible people and decided to borrow parts of their life. Of course names and details have been changed so they won’t sue lol

Some of you here were nice enough to playtest and I’m really thankful! Check out the final result :)

Ah wow! You might the perfect person to playtest! Thank you so much, when the playtest is up you will be notified by Steam! Don’t forget to fill in the form

Hey everyone! The time has finally come to do a public playtest of my game. I know you guys love these sorts of games and would love your feedback. To do so, simply go to the [Steam Page](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2719670/The_Milgram_Experiment/) and click Request Access. You will be notified when the game is up (still putting the finishing touches). What do you think about the concept of the game and presentation?
fedilink

Hi, this is very very early beta. I don’t want anything from it shared in the public. It’s just not ready for the wider audience. That’s why I’m doing playtesting, so this thing can git gud before people try it :D

Are you tired of new games coming out broken? Well now is your chance to criticize someone else's game for free! hah I just finished the first playable version of my game and really need unbiased people to try it and give me their opinions and advice. As for the game - it's called [The Milgram Experiment](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2719670/The_Milgram_Experiment). Leave a comment or DM me so we can set something up!

Hello, something that has been bothering me of late is how exactly to I know if a game idea is going to be good before making the full game or even the demo. In short I've released three games before and the last one of them was a comedy narrative game kind of like The Stanley Parable. I really like the genre and before moving on from it, I wanted to make another narrative game, but this time with a dark twist. Reading random stuff on the internet, I stumbled upon one of the most controversial experiments in history - The Milgram Experiment (basically innocent people were asked to torture another person to see if they will obey). I've always been interested in ethics and moral choices in games and stuff like The Trolley Problem, so I decided to make a game out all of these themes where the psychological horror comes from the fact that you are the one that gets to face moral dilemmas and decide if and how you should kill a subject. All of your choices during testing have an impact on the ending and I have planned 8 different endings. At the start of the game it's unclear who or why is making you do this, but over the course of the game you will get little bits of information that help you piece the story. So that is kind of my elevator pitch of the game. First question is - does this sound compelling to you? Would you yourself play something like that or watch a streamer play it? Second question is how do I validate if this idea is good and worth pursuing? Currently around 20% of the game is complete and around 80% of the demo. I do have a [Steam page](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2719670/The_Milgram_Experiment/) of the game that has garnered around 800 wishlists and am holding off on official announcement trailer until I have more good footage. Do I talk to friends? Do I ask more people on forums? Do I need something playable that I need to put in front of people? How should I approach this? Thank you for reading this, any comment or idea is appreciated!

Hello all, this community has always been very accepting of me and offered advice and suggestions trough the development process. Today is the first big sale of the game -35% which makes it under 10 bucks. If you want to get it, now is the time! Thank you for your support - [Steam Link](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2336120/Do_Not_Press_The_Button_Or_Youll_Delete_The_Multiverse/)

For context : have no idea how they found about it, but I love that they are illuminating indie games. And VICE.com has 12 million monthly readers. This is insane for me , because for a long time I was struggling for the game to be noticed. (If you want to follow how development of the game is going, a simple wishlist [on Steam ](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2336120/Dont_Press_The_Button_To_Delete_The_Multiverse_The_Game/) will be well appreciated.

Original post [here](https://lemmy.world/post/24185472) I asked this wonderful community to help me out and select neck tie or bow tie version. This little plush duckie in parts is inspired by The Companion Cube in Portal. The idea is that the player should steal it from The Narrator of my and form an emotional attachment to i. Do you like the new design? : ) Also if you want to support small indie devs like me and like narrative games like Title Pending and The Stanley Parable, please consider a wishlist for [Do Not Press The Button (Or You'll Delete The Multiverse)](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2336120/Dont_Press_The_Button_To_Delete_The_Multiverse_The_Game/) Thank you for participating in its development!

So I'm re-doing some of my Do Not Press The Button (Or You'll Delete The Multiverse) character models and I have this duck that is kind of inspired by the Companion Cube in Portal. I want to make it as appealing as possible so the players will attach to it and carry it around with them. Which looks better! I'm more partial to the neck tie (because I like wearing them) but what do you guys think? (If you want to follow how development of the game is going, a simple wishlist on Steam will be well appreciated [STEAM](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2336120/Do_Not_Press_The_Button_Or_Youll_Delete_The_Multiverse/) )

Hey today I wanted to show something amazing from the Stanley Parable-inspired game I'm developing. Might be a long read so bare with me: at the end of my demo The Narrator is annoyed that the player presses The Button (in a game called Do Not Press The Button)! So he demands the player to send a 500 word essay on why they shouldn't press it. I put this line in as a joke and didn't expect to get anything, but funnily enough I've gotten so much essays which you can see here in the[ video ](https://imgur.com/a/essays-6YHtVcI) and I decided as an Easter Egg to put a secret room in the FULL GAME where people can actually read all of essays that was sent and I'm sure there are a lot of Lemmy people that have sent one. In the video you can see small example of what people have written! It's just awesome and makes me smile! P.S. If you want to support my work and encourage development a simple wishlist of the game on [Steam ](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2336120/Do_Not_Press_The_Button_Or_Youll_Delete_The_Multiverse/) will make my day! P.S. It was so funny to see someone playing the demo on their Stream and after they finished it, they opened a text file and started writing the essay, and you see new viewers coming in, expecting gameplay or something, and she is like "Oh, I'm doing my homework that this game gave me" :D

Gentlemen, it’s with a great pleasure I inform you that Do Not Press The Button has hit 7000 wishlists
For context: I’ve been working on the [game](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2336120/Do_Not_Press_The_Button_To_Delete_The_Multiverse/) for almost 19 months now and for a very long time it had a low wishlist count. As I started updating the Steam page with new images and gifs and posting about it regularly the people who were interested in the game grew. Today I woke up to check on Steamworks and it turns out it’s [7000+](https://imgur.com/gallery/7000-wishlists-22-11-2024-mqi5uKI) wishlist! (It was around 300 for the first YEAR of development). But here is the thing, I’m not one of those guys who quits their job to pursue gamedev. You see posts like these all the time, I’m not even sure if most of them are even real, but I feel that is a HUGE risk. One I’m not willing to take, as I can’t afford to go two years without pay. A safer thing to do is to do gamedev on the side. But the amount of work you have to do is pretty much like having a second job. I think that if you treat it as hobby you will never get there. So I started treating my free time as a currency and trying to optimize how I spend it. Currently most of it is spent on game dev. Haven’t seen any of my friends for a few months now. And haven’t even turned on the PS4 in the living room since September. I only have time to play some classic games at nights on the weekend. Funny story but the other week at 2 A.M. I was staying late, with just the laptop in the dark and my girlfriend comes in and asks what the hell am I doing in the dark. I was actually playing Splinter Cell, and she looks at my screen and there it was Sam Fisher holding a terrorist at gun point. One thing I refuse to compromise with is diet and workouts. I try to cook my own food and have only home made meals. I plan for each week so I save time when eating. Something I’ve found out is that it’s pointless to over exhaust yourself with no sleep and shitty diet. In the end you are not in a better state to be creative and as your well being suffers, your game suffers to. So I just work on my job during the day, and then from 18:00 to 23:00 I switch to my game. Somehow I squeeze in there 3 dog walks, 2 meals and a dinner with the wifu. After almost two years, I’m wrecked. Will do it again tho. I have two cool ideas for other games and I really want to see happen (one is kind of a Psychological Thriller, the other is a Cozy Game). P. S. Thank you if you have wishlisted it already and if not, please consider doing so : )

I know it's just 10 people but it's been a rough few months and I think it's a good idea to celebrate the small victories. : ) Edit: Link for the lazy on [Steam](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2336120/Do_Not_Press_The_Button_To_Delete_The_Multiverse/)

Google drive to the rar file: [Google drive](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1H88aZbS7pTw7UuS801VSa6vfN-O7kf8N/view) Hey all, as you may know from my previous posts I make indie games and I decided to take a little break from my main project and spend 3 days to make a scary (but also kind of humorous) horror game for my girlfriend. It's called the Terrors of Adulthood and the theme is all the bs the we have to deal with as adults. I presented it to hereon Halloween and she kinda liked it (she's not really a gamer). So I decided it to post it here because this is my first venture into the horror genre and I'm not going to lie, it's kind of exciting. I might go all in on a horror game in the future. I kind of like small atmospheric stuff that slowly immerse you in their horrors. I would love some feedback from actual gamers Also I want to say the ending is from an inside joke that we have - I'm not making any statements about relationships, feminism, modern society or anything like that. Here are the controls: WASD, ARROWS - Movement E - interact with objects (up to the player to find out which objects are intractable) Space - Jump F - skip intro when replaying I didn't have time to make menus or restart screens as I was in a hurry to finish the experience by Halloween. So ALT+F4 to quit the game. :D P.S. I'm not sure if these types of post are allowed. If they are not - mods feel free to remove it. :)

So I just read this book on history of games called "Blood, Sweat and Pixels" and was fascinated by the chapter on The Witcher 3 and mostly how the team put in so much thought and care in every single side quest. And seems that there are a lot of moral decision to be made on each adventure. So I finally decided to give it a try. Got any advice for me?

I'm panicking guys...

What is your favorite Assassin’s Creed game?
Hi guys, I have the hunger for more history games. I have to say that usually I'm not a huge AC fan, but last summer I played Odyssey and I'm a huge ancient history nerd and I think that the game and the period were represented very well. (The Story was kinda meh, but serviceable). What other AC game would you recommend for me to play next? What other titles are the most like Odyssey?

Hello guys, I’ve noticed a lot of people here are hungry for more games like the Stanley Parable. After playing the O.G. game and the Deluxe edition I’ve found myself wanting more of this. More of these meta, narrator led, weird humour games! I started work on my called Do Not Press The Button (To Delete The Multiverse). You can check it on [Steam here](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2336120/Do_Not_Press_The_Button_To_Delete_The_Multiverse/) and follow the development. I’m really open to ideas and suggestions of stuff you maybe miss in The Stanley Parable or mechanics you would like to see or even wacky characters! (So I can shamelessly steal them, nah j.k. I will ask your permission to include your ideas)

Hello, I'm close to releasing my third game called Do Not Press The Button (To Delete The Multiverse) so I would like to get some feedback from players. My only conditions is that you let me watch you play because I need to see player reactions and ask questions at specific moments (whether a level works as intended, or a joke lands properly). Usually it's very chill, fun and we have a great time! Hello my guys, I've just announced a new game and I would describe the game as a third person action-adventure/strategy game where you defend your fortress against endless waves of evil armies. And during the day you explore the open world for resources, upgrades and you build your defenses which include flamethrowers, catapults and ballistas. You yourself are armed with a ghostly bow. Oh, yeah and you're a ghost. Steam page: [Click here](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2863440/GHOSTHERO_Shadow_of_Vengeance/) Let me know what you think of the idea and if you want to show your support, simply wishlist it. :)
