Thank you, those are some interesting/good use cases indeed!

What do you use it for?
I’ve had it for a while,
but ended up uninstalling it,
since I could not think of a good use case.

Pro or anti consumer features? x’)

It’s not LibreWolf, but how about IceRaven?
https://github.com/fork-maintainers/iceraven-browser

Has been my goto FireFox fork for Android for years.

It’s not dead,
the (over)hyped period is just over.

I for one do plan on picking it up again in the near future, they added quite a bit of new content (pals, tower boss, island, oil rig, arena, raids, …) since I last played it.

*Nintendont

The lawsuit company which makes games on the side strikes again.

Currently at 30ish hours and still enjoying it.

Reminded me that Bethesda does release some great / huge games.

Albeit quite bugged at release,
but since they (usually) embrace the modding scene, lots of this can be / has been patched and even improved by the community.

The Next Gen update is a stupid cash-grab though, and imo should have never happened…

An official modpack would have been much better.

My “nExT gEn” update experience:

  1. Get baited to re-play Fallout 4 through the new TV show + Next Gen update
  2. Be disappointed since the graphics aged like milk + Official HD texture DLC sucks
  3. Be disappointed since the update broke nearly all mod support
  4. Roll back to the release before the Next Gen update + Uninstall the Official HD texture DLC
  5. Install 205 mods, and happily play with nearly everything in 4K

FYI, most mods I installed are from:

Citra, internal resolution x9,
and you’ve got yourself an early access to this :)

No need to pay Nintendont, the law-suit company that makes games on the side, again for a game you already bought in the past.

They might have been doing it for longer then I’ve been aware of.

But this is a (small) list of things that caught my attention and made me despise them:

  • Garry’s Mod takedowns
  • Yuzu + Citra takedowns
  • Relic Castle takedown
  • Palworld Mod takedowns
  • BOTW Mod takedowns
  • PointCrow DMCAs
  • Gary Bowser’s life ruined

Interesting, so in between lawsuits and takedowns they still do game related stuff from time to time huh?

One thing is certain,
due to all those lawsuits and takedowns,
I won’t be buying into their next console,
they won’t get a single dime from me anymore.

English is not my native language,
my mistake, corrected it.

Did not know that,
however it won’t make me change up my mind about Nintendont.

All their previous lawsuites and takedowns against the modding and emulation communities, where not fake, nor trolls, and made me despise them.

Nintendont,
the lawsuit company that makes games on the side, strikes again…

We’re well beyond the point by now of me ever buying anything from them again.
I won’t support such behavior of any company.

Well I’m not against No-Log VPNs,
I use them on the daily myself.

However using a VPN of a spy-ware company kinda defeats the purpose.

Hopefully it will inspire the game industry to finally start releasing some new good triple A games again, instead of milking existing franchises with half baked content, subscriptions and micro payments…

We vote with our wallet,
and currently we’re voting well with not buying into the crap they often pump out lately, and the statistics reflect that.

Not saying all new games are bad though, I’m thoroughly enjoying Horizon Forbidden West on PC lately.

But to me it does feel like the game industry has been dwindeling the past few years.

I assume due to venture capitalists who are not really passionate about creating good content, but more about turning a quick profit.

Instead of making bedrock edition,
they could have focused on supporting JVM, and thus Minecraft Java Edition, for more consoles.

But since Java is a C# (also from M$) competitor, they likely did not want to go that route.

Anyways, you can play Java Edition on Linux, Mac, Windows and also Android.

Multiple consoles (E.g. PS4 / Nintendo Switch) unofficially support dual booting to Linux and/or Android.

For Android you can use PojavLauncher,
it even supports modpacks:
https://github.com/PojavLauncherTeam/PojavLauncher

I will not touch Bedrock edition,
especially not since it requires you to sign in on your Windows with a M$ account, while my Windows KVM is Ameliorated, which strips the ability to do so, nor would I want to if I could.

Java > Bedrock

F*ck M$ for even making Bedrock…
It’s an inferior version of Minecraft and it fractures the modding community.

Please don’t,
I just blocked that guy for spamming my feed…

Relic Castle,
is the site name that got DMCAd by Nintendont.

Saves you from opening the article.

I love Termux too,
but honestly I have little use-cases for it.

Back when I ran a server,
it was nice to be able to SSH into it through Termux from time to time to do some maintenance on the go.

Nowadays I still use Termux to ping/telnet devices sometimes, to see if they’re reachable, also on the go.

But other then that,
I don’t know what I’d use it for.

Since imo, most CLI stuff is way easier behind a laptop/desktop, due to having a larger screen available to you, for easier:

  • Copy/pasting/dialing in long commands
  • Reading of long/large command outputs

Afaik this is a stock feature
in LineageOS’s Trebuchet Launcher,
called “Hidden & Protected apps”

You can switch to LineageOS for it,
or grab only the launcher from APKMirror:
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/lineageos/trebuchet-4/

Note: I’m still on Android 13,
so not fully sure if it will be available on 14,
but I don’t see why it wouldn’t.

I’ve always been happy with OnePlus devices.

Their build quality and specs are good for the price and they are often well supported by LineageOS.

However I think its personal preference.

So I’d say look for any brand which you like,
and check if there is a device available within your price range, with specs that seem sufficient for you.

Check which devices are supported under the LineageOS(forMicroG) device lists:

If it’s under there,
then LineageOS(forMicroG) will be supported officially.

Magisk (root) should work on any of these devices:

Additionally, I like to use the compare functionality of GSMArena to compare device hardware specs (battery, camera, nfc, etc):

If I learned anything from past 3 MSI laptops,
they provide good hardware for the price.

However, wrapped in shit build quality!

Each of them started to break down within a year of use…

Would not recommend anything from MSI again,
except for loose desktop components.

Remember,
if you participate in the subscription nonsense,
then you’re supporting such a future.

If you refuse to buy subscriptions,
then you’re standing up against it :)

Remember to un-subscribe from marketing mails after every free game claim on GoG to prevent being advertisement bombed by them :)

Here’s the link to do so:
https://www.gog.com/en/account/settings/subscriptions

Imo they should:

  • Ask money for a subscription to go online on official servers (after they ironed out a good anti cheat)
  • Keep the self hosted / dedicated servers as a free alternative

Was this mod released before the DMCA?
If so, anyone got a mirror?

Oh my, did not know that, but now I’m srsly tempted to already delete my account D:

The day that happens, will be the day I delete my account.

No amount of free games can justify the amount of spy-ware Google/Tencent will bring to the table.

FYI, it’s free on Steam to celebrate it till 2023-11-20 :)

Consider backing up in NextCloud, instead of sending your private pictures to a spy-ware giant who will sell it to the best bidder :P

If the product is free, but not open source, then you('r data) is likely the product to be sold / made money upon.

Hi, I’ve been struggling with similar things lately.

So I spent the day writing out a launcher tool similar to yours, but a bit more full featured :)

Check it out at: https://github.com/Rikj000/XWaydroid

Right now it only works for KWin_Wayland though,
which in my experience has been more stable / easy to work with compared to Weston/Cage.

However I’m open to merge in support for them too :D

Previous Infinity user. Been using Eternity for a few weeks now, and I love it! :D
