Amazing game. Perfectly executed. This is an excellent detail and a testament to the care that went into this game.

Ugh. Why can’t porn games get their own platform so I can look for a fucking game to play without having literal porn shoved in my face. What kinds of losers actually buy these “games”? Smh my head.

Commercials weren’t the only example I listed.

I consume as much media as anyone, a lot of gaming content, and I don’t recall seeing a single WoW ad in years, not on websites, youtube, or streaming, Maybe you see those ads because you play WoW or other mmos. I haven’t heard any streamers talking about it, no articles or memes outside of dedicated communities.

I’m not saying those things dont exist. I’m just saying, as a general consumer of gaming media, it really doesn’t come up nearly as often as it used to. It’s more niche now, less mainstream. Which, unfortunately, means the player base is less dynamic.

Just because people still log in to grind dailies and world quests doesn’t mean the game has the same presence in pop culture it used to. I remember seeing commercials with Ozzy for wotlk, people would talk about the game, you’d see references to it, there was a south park episode about it. It’s just not that relevant or popular anymore.

Valve asks reporter to play game, reporter reports on it.

Thank you! It seems like every developer or TV producer is shoehorning awkward sex scenes and romance into every piece of media being produced. It’s like the people in charge don’t realize porn exists, and think their viewers desperately need to be able to jerk off to whatever media they’re consuming at any given time. It’s pathetic. A creator should be able to create something without it turning into porn.

They were too busy ruining the game by turning it into a repetitive grindfest.

Well I’ve got news for you. They already remastered CE years ago and it looks great.

I just want to be able to pause the game when playing solo.

Only someone with zero context would try to claim that. You must be completely unfamiliar with paradox games.

“A bit pricey”

My dude stellaris+all DLC is $350!

Furthermore, “releasing a new stellaris every few years” is not the only alternative. Look at all the games that exist that have regular free content updates.

Paradox needs to do better.

I think we need to admit that paradox is a shitty greedy company that cares more about selling a million DLCs than they do about making a quality product.

Paradox’s business practices have always been greedy and over monetized. Not sure why anyone is surprised their latest product sucks.

You can also get it free from prime gaming right now.

Meaning they will give you a free copy to keep, not just during a promo event.

No, the devs are being intentionally dishonest by pretending what was once the full game can still be considered as such. They have created so much more content for the game, you can no longer reasonably define the “base game” as the “full experience”. At this moment, if a person wanted to play rimworld in its entire and complete form, it would cost them over $100. There are no bundle deals, the game barely ever goes on sale, the devs are clearly trying to maximize profit, an action which would be met with judgement and criticism in any other circumstance, as it should.

A small demo portion of the game is $35, which is absurd in and of itself. The full game is now over $100. In no world is that considered a “low cost”, especially not for the caliber of game being offered.

Also I’m not even going to bother responding to your sad false dichotomy.

And they’re still gonna charge $130 for the full game.

Hot take alert: Wow another $30 dlc for a game that never goes on sale. How much are they charging for rimworld now? Oh yeah, $100, not including the new dlc, so let’s say $130 for an indie game with rampant balance issues and lazy graphics that were stolen from prison architect in the first place.

Dont get me wrong, the game can be really enjoyable at times. But the devs need a reality check. For the price they’re charging they need to offer way more.

“buying a full game and, once you played the first part of it, you decided you liked it, then you paid and the rest of the game you already had was unlocked.”

“Free to play game with paid expansion packs and DLC”

Right there. There’s the blatant dishonesty. You’ve just described two different scenarios while attempting to portray them as the same.

You’re welcome. Now go away.

Yeah I’ve never been a fan of the point-and-click isometric mechanics, but I’ve been playing some BG3 and it’s pretty well done, I’m enjoying it. Definitely feels exactly like Divinity OS 2 but with DnD lore. Granted, I wasn’t a big DOS2 fan but that was mostly because the story tried so hard to be miserable all the time and make the player feel like shit for any decision they made. I’m not super far into BG3 but I don’t quite get that same vibe from it.
