I got in an argument with a toaster and now I lost a bet and I’m here just to get my house back.

Sure. But it’s a line I Remember from a game.

“I’m here to kick ass and chew bubble gum. And I’m all out of bubble gum.”

It’s just a basic courtesy. You will get far more people willing to help by saying “I don’t know this, how do I [enter whatever you need to know]” good luck out there!

I am an ultimate raider in FFXIV. If I am traveling around, ask away. One of the greatest things about our community is there a bunch of people that love to help and teach. But you have to be honest about where you are at. If you don’t know, say something. But if you pretend to be further ahead and people are expecting to beat something, it will be awkward. But that’s raiding. The rest is just finding what you like about it. There are usually tons of discord channels that helps you find what you are interested in.

Like the lunar whale from FFXIV? What a waste of 40.

It’s still worth it for the freedom and then upgrade with time

Hmm. I wonder if we have partied together! I do the ultimates. I’m actually a Penta legend. But I don’t parse more than what I naturally do while clearing. I may chase an orange with BiS but I usually get bored after the first few weeks after BiS and go elsewhere.

I was just wondering if your main jam was housing or glam or just the story. If it’s raiding I probably wouldn’t dig 16 either.

I was just asking what your main activity is in XIV. I’m a raider. So the story is cool, but not my driving factor in enjoying the game. The gameplay and mechanics are usually what makes me enjoy it.

What do you do in FFXIV? Like I can’t look at a stand alone and expect the same. I even liked SOME of Strangers of Paradise just because of the job skill tree. It was what they embarked on back in ARR and it never happened.

But the demo for XVI and the crossover event was decent. I loved the Ifrit fight and the cave flight part. I am not sure about it though. If I could have done PC as the demo I would have bought it. But waiting 6 months is ass.

If you don’t have Hrothgar themed servers I won’t even consider it

Kefka. That’s why. He is the only villain to win by losing. He got what he wanted and drove everyone into his hand. He is by far the most cerebral villain in the franchise. So many stories leave out that having a phenomenal big bad is what makes a hero a better hero.

I completely agree. Console exclusives are crap. Especially with how good PCs are.

I’m suing Twister for my inability to be flexible

This game changed gaming. It took so much of what it was going for and left nothing to be desired. Good story. Good quests. Good graphics and gameplay. It delivered from start to end.

The gamers?! I don’t hear anyone saying they want loot boxes. This is 100 percent the devs and the companies that put all the best loot behind the loot boxes. Good games such as FFXIV, does not.

All the time. Depending on the device and the output. I don’t want to scroll depending on if it’s my work or gaming computer in certain situations.

Have you played the season that just dropped? It is better than most games. And I’m not some casual. I have a very respectable PC and gaming laptop under Linux and Windows. I know graphics quality.

Meh. I’m going to disagree. I feel the graphics were underwhelming given the time they took. The scenery was beautiful but the characters and NPCs need some major work.

Elden Ring was better. Cyberpunk is better. Fortnite is better.

They are making us wait 2 more years and I don’t even care because it’s been that long and they have fallen behind.

I still find it very good game. The upgrade systems could use a bit better of a tutorial but I respect a game that takes a minute for a player to figure out the puzzle. Because those are the games I like.

The Mantis puzzle was a bit painful but I got it after a few tries. But the game seems to have more to it. I am enjoying just traveling space and seeing what is out there.

Spaceship upgrades seem cool. The shipbuilder has a good potential for a sandbox deal if you get enough money. Unlocking and upgrading is intwinded with the story which is normal. The dialogue is a bit overwhelming at times, but it’s space Skyrim. I don’t know what people are up in arms about. It looks gorgeous. It’s fun most of the time. What do people want?

It all depends on the game. I play one game most of the time and others when I am not playing that main game. For my main game I pay a sub and expacs and occasionally for something from the store I like. Mostly I just raid and chill with my friends.

But in other games it’s casual. I’m ok with some transactions if I am enjoying myself. If it hinders my progress or is unnecessary then I’m just bored. Like Genshin. Beautiful game but way to gotcha. Plus the game control is ass. Gamers want a combo or something more interactive to do attacks with. Elden Ring was ok with that. But there are several games that forget it’s an interactive medium.

But I digress. Games like RDR2 I have never paid beyond the base game. But I will throw down for a Fortnite skin every once in awhile because I like it. It’s not a linear “if the game is free I will micro” kind of discussion. It’s if the game hits me right I will do it. Like fuck Battlefront 1 and 2. Never ever with EA again. Their customer support is shitty too.

We game for what we game for. Some people game for the cosmetics. They are selling what consumers buy. I’m not saying it’s right. But if they keep buying why wouldn’t they sell it?
