Maybe if games consistently had some kind of really reliable auto-profiling mechanism that could go run various “stress test” scenes with a variety of settings to find reasonable settings for given hardware

…like most games from early 10’s? A lot of them had built-in benchmark that tested what your PC is capable of and then set things up for you.

Once read that Civ has a tiny little problem…and that is basically that each time they release a game, it’s done. That’s it, there’s nothing more to add in sensible manner. So instead of FIFA approach, they try to slightly shake up the rules of the game with each version, change some mechanics, add some mechanics, maybe even drop some of them.

I may be outsider but lower graphic level horror games actually work more for me, because imagination fills the gaps better than engine rendering plastic looking tentacles can

For me it’s good. I’ll keep slightly more attention to what they are doin now. Slightly…but enough to notice other news

even without real competition on the market,

Fortnite 76

The only thing fortnite and fallout 76 have in common is shooting and building lol. Where comparing them is still a big stretch.

Also, a lot of people wanted coop fallout and while Fallout 76 isn’t exactly a single-player turned coop, it has all the fun of coop and fallout.

Hell, people even wanted fallout multiplayer. Just fallout multiplayer. There’s a reason multiplayer mod exists for New Vegas.

So yeah, sorry but load of bull.

Oi. Fallout 76 is good, at least now. It’s basically just the zany-ness of fallout, with better enviro storytelling than fallout 4 and just pure fun. Nowhere near RPG, but it didn’t aim to be an RPG from the beggining, just a fun multiplayer game.

Funny you mention Rinworld…

…which does exactly that - includes mods in main game with updates xD

Space Station 13 ^^ It’s father. I literally have no time to get back into it though…

Tried it. That’s why I said Vortex is more visually and mechanically appealing. And from experience Vortex pretty much removes need of troubleshooting in most cases, unless you try to top off full blown overhauls and similiar.

Difference is, for experienced people MO2 seems better. But for fresh guys Vortex wins, by a lot.

Like it or not, it is golden standard. Streamlined like hell and makes getting into modding a childs play, both visually and mechanically. Only when you start going deep into mods does Vortex shit a brick.

They really should add option of unlocking manual order of mods and for me, that would be it. Sadly last I heard they said no.

Edit: Also you still can bypass automatic load order by entering manual value for mod, they do have that option…but I found it’s behaving kinda quirky, so still would prefer simple drag and drop. Also uses 16 base which for most users will be offputting.

Also also you can add reqs to load something after something else, but that works as long as first mod doesn’t need special place.

Had an old, barely living phone. Tried very hard to die on sole fact it had to display icons. KISS actually made it usable once again. ^^

God that would sound so dystopian and futuristic…but to be honest, most articles about AI today would sound like that back then. Damn people would freak out about privacy.

Wasn’t 14/30 days only for subscription/mmo games? From what I recall demos of single player games had from 15 minutes up to 2 hours, depending on the size of the game. That or where applicable it held only first chapter/first few levels.

I heard that if you “overuse” it though, steam will lock you out of that feature. With cases of using it 10 times / month being seen as overuse. Not sure how real that is though, or if these 10 times were exception.
