One thing I’m really surprised about is that the overall screen strength doesn’t seem to have improved over the last 5 years. Screens are still much better than what they were over a decade ago (where a drop without a case was pretty much a screen crack)
But I’m finding on my Pixel 7 pro for example that I’m still finding light scratches, it feels like these screens only have a 5 or 6 on the mohz scale where you’d usually expect a 7 or beyond.
After a decade of Samsung and other third party phones, I’m super keen on the Pixel 7 pro. Even with Samsung boosting huge MP counts for their phones, they always come across either blurry or low quality to me (especially selfies where it feels like they’ve cheaped out)
In comparison the software processing on the Pixel is amazing, things seems to always be in focus and correctly lit.
It’s one of the newest D&D like games out there, so UI wise it’s probably one of the best to start on. But there are other similar games (e.g. Pathfinder Kingmaker / Pathfinder Wrath of the righteous) that I’d start on first.
Both of those last two we’re a great overall introduction into what TRPGs can be like
Was really keen on tildes for a moment when we were going through the exodus stage with Reddit. I wasn’t keen on the closed invite system.
I get they want to keep their own community and that’s fine, but it’s a shame they wanted to limit their growth in a time when people were looking for alternatives
At least with Warhammer 3 / Troy the game does at least leverage multi-core CPUS, however it really seems to cap out at 5 or 6 cores. I’ve noticed on the 12900k that it works really hard on 3-4 cores and somewhat on the others.
I’m hoping the next total war mainline game has a full engine refresh, one made for modern multi-core CPUS and leverages at least FSR 2x/DLSS 2+. If there’s a game that I think could use upscaling support, it’s a total war game.
Still amazed that I can play multiple games at 4k anywhere from 144-288hz at maxed settings with everything cranked, but I’ll get GPU capped on my 4090 in Warhammer 😮
Total war games have historically pushed both my GPU and CPU upgrades. I’m still amazed how poorly their engines are optimized, how I can run into the high 200 FPS+ range on some demanding games with my 4090 but playing Warhammer 3 on ultra quality at ultrawide 1440p pushes it to almost 100% GPU usage at around 100 FPS.
Really great game when when your can have massive battles without lag, but still amazed that even with a 4090 / 12900k the campaign map and battles aren’t perfect
I like the integration of adaptive icons for Android. I’m really keen on selecting a theme based on my current wallpaper and that color being used for all apps.
Not many apps are currently supporting it, even Facebook and other players you’d assume could do it in a seconds aren’t.
Implementing it looks fairly straight forward, you provide a transparent image of your logo and it adaptive naturally to suit your theme. I assume apps are intentionally being difficult because that visually changes their logo / branding.
It’s great when it works tho!
An interesting development to be sure
