I love 3D Platformers, but Steam does not seem to have many good recommendations for that tag (lots of non-3D platformers in the mix for some reason). Maybe there just aren’t that many out there. What can you recommend?
Here are some that I have already played and want more similar to these:
-Cavern of Dreams
-Castle on the Coast
-A Hat in Time
-Demon Turf
-Frogun
-Sapo 3D
-New Super Lucky’s Tale
-Yooka Laylee
-Toree series
-Pseudoregalia

Help and suggestions
I’m borderline necroposting, but I just picked up humble’s decked out collection (still available for a little over a week) and noticed Haste, which looks like it has very tasty movement and might be up your alley.
It’s never too late for more recommendations. Haste looks really good. It’s on my wishlist!
Fire up emulator and play Tomba 2 from the psx era if you havent already played it. That game will blow your mind if you love 3d platformer
Emulators have reignited my interest in gaming. So many modded games and newly translated classics. Bujingai for PS2 is a really interesting platformer and playing the Shinobi games as well.
In that case you might enjoy genji, also on ps2.
Just returning to let you know that game was fantastic and I appreciate the suggestion. Led me to Bujingai!!

Psychonauts is really good and currently less than 2 bucks. There’s also a sequel, currently about 9 bucks. (Both in €)
I second this. I recently replayed the first game and then the sequel back to back and it was one of my favorite gaming experiences of all time.
They were both such a joy to play.
Ruffy and the Riverside !!
Doom Eternal
It’s not strictly a platformer, but if you’re also into puzzle games, check out Islands of Insight. It’s super chill, and some of the challenges are platforming/timing based.
Neon White, Cyberhook, and Crumble are all excellent, though you might be looking for a more traditional platformer.
Blue Fire is decent and definitely worth checking out while it’s $4 right now.
If you liked Pseudoregalia, get Corn Kidz 64!
It’s another N64-style 3D platformer released in 2023 with a goat protagonist trapped in a dream. This is an oddly narrow coincidence.
Lunistice is quite fun. It’s not groundbreaking but I enjoyed my play through of it. It’s not overly long either which is a positive to me.
Snake Pass.
They don’t seem to make platformers like they used to, have you tried emulating the Ratchet and Clank / Sly Racoon / Jack and Daxter, etc, etc games?
Otherwise Pumpkin Jack is more recent and a good fun platformer
Surprised I haven’t seen Hell Pie here yet. Pretty solid physics and fun mechanics. The humor is a bit crude and sometimes kinda edge-lord l, but the game play is solid.
Ruffy and the Riverside. Really interesting concept with editing terrain and your environment.
Gex Trilogy is pretty good if you’re into old-school platformers. It aged better than I thought.
Megabonk is basically 3D vampire survivors, and that rules.
I haven’t played all these but they look cool, maybe worth checking out: Pumpkin Jack, Spark the Electric Jester 3, and Sonic Robo Blast 2 (it’s free, not on Steam)
The Portal games are fun puzzle FPS platformers with a great story, though there’s a good chance you’ve already played those and didn’t consider them platformers.
Another FPS platformer is Roboquest. It’s a roguelite shooter. Very fast pace and stressful but fun if you’re into that kind of thing.
I also want to second Psychonauts. I haven’t played #2 yet but the first game had a unique and interesting story with fun gameplay.
I’ve heard A Short Hike is a relaxing game. More about exploration than meeting game objectives but could be a nice break when you’re stressed. Basically the opposite of Roboquest haha
Yes to Portal.
