Now we just need the patient gamer version that shows when a game will be $10 for the first time.
Isthereanydeal.com will do that
SteamDB keeps track of prices. You can use their browser extension to see the historical lows in a game’s Steam page.
I was wondering if such a tool existed. There’re some publishers that do deep sales on games released not that long ago, and I would think that there is a trend between game discount trends across games from the same publisher. Surely there is a way to map that to predict when a game will hit X value.
I want something like this, but for game events.
I imagine this is in response to the fact that developers discovered that when users added their games to the wishlist steam didn’t notify followers when said games released.
Surely you mean when that happened to one developer, once. Or did I somehow miss stories about other occurrences?
It affected less than a hundred games since 2015, and Valve discovered it in late 2024, and sent an email to the affected developers. One of them made a reddit thread, which is what most people reference.
However, the dev that went public ended up being a bit weird, because the game had been in Early Access for 10 years, and at the time of release it was nowhere near what had been promised. They also sold 100k copies over the years, but apparently not selling a thousand on day one was too bad. Never mind that they didn’t seem to have a community, done any sort of marketing, or I don’t know, use itchio? They decided to abandon the game, and start a new project. 🤷🏻♂️ Reminds me of the Stranded Deep devs, so I’m not sympathizing at all.
Edit: wording
It does, both by e-mail and/or notifications on your phone if you have the app with this option enabled.
Pretty sure this must have been in development before when the bug was discovered. You don’t make new features like this within a month.
