My favorite overall is probably Bridge Crew, because there’s nothing better than cruising around in the OG NCC-1701 Enterprise with your pals.

I also liked Elite Force when it came out, because it was crazy to see the 3D Trek environments even though they’re unimpressive by today’s standards. It even got me to watch Voyager.

I recently got Star Trek: Resurgence during a sale and was very pleasantly surprised. It was the closest thing to a new TNG episode I’ve seen in years.

It does have issues, but I could easily overlook them for the writing and characters. I found the whole 10h extremely satisfying.

Same here! I was pretty skeptical but it ended up being a lot of fun. I wish it was longer. It definitely has strong TNG vibes, and you can really feel the weight of being captain in some of the scenes. Highly recommend this for any Trek fan, despite the super janky mechanics.

100% Bridge Crew.

The Orville: Interactive Fan Experience. /j

But really though, The Orville show feels like a fantastic homage to classic Trek, and the show itself feels hopeful if that makes sense.

Also the totally free fan game for it on steam is pretty cool. You can explore the entirety of The Orville ship, you can even fly it around different space areas AND you can take a shuttle out for a ride! There are a couple different “scenarios” you can play through such as enemies boarding the ship, and having to make repairs while you’re floating through a conscious nebula that’s talking to you and making horror movie stuff happen.

Also there’s multiplayer, a holodeck with different places you can load up like a bowling alley, and you can customize your own crewmember.

Star Trek: Klingon Academy

You can get it on some abandonware sites nowadays, and there’s even a mod to send commands to the crew with your voice.

Its not really all that Trek feeling, but I like Star Trek Invasion, for the PSX. Developed by a lot of the same guys that made Colony Wars, also on PSX. Its a space flight simulator, similar to the likes of Wing Commander and Star Wars Tie Fighter.

Oh nice! I’ll have to look that one up, I’d never even heard of it. Sounds awesome though.

I didn’t play any Star Trek game… Except for Star Trek: The Next Generation: The Final Unity, which I found at a local flea market a few years ago. So it’s that one by default!

It’s an ok point and click adventure, I don’t think it’s even the best Star Trek point and click adventure available. I’ve never been too much into these sorts of games but I confess it was extremely nostalgic even though I had never played it before!

I loved that game. Especially since you could donate the warp core.

Star Trek: Klingon

Not necessarily the best game, but it demands to be on the list.

Elite Force is where it’s at but Klingon has it’s place for sure.

I think that 1974’s “Super Star Trek” is the only Star Trek game I’ve ever played.

Star Trek: 25th Anniversary (1992 for PC). A great point and click adventure. Core childhood memory.

I haven’t played a lot of them, but my favorite is Bridge Commander. I think it was super janky, but also very immersive, had actual voice lines by Brent Spiner and Patrick Stewart, and decent plot.

Absolutely Elite Force. I still play 1v1 against my dad every so often on a ton of custom maps. I think we have over 600 installed. Hard to believe we’re still playing it after all these years!

the OG NCC-1701 Enterprise with your pals.

If only had VR still. And pals…

Seemed like great larping. I would’ve jizzed at the chance of something like that 25 years ago when I was doing just that essentially, but the GPU was just imagination. Now it’s like half real and I have zero friends (period) who would be willing to play something like that.
