Gps wont be replaced. Gps works litterally anywhere on the planet’s surface without any other data connection.
Your phones acceleratormeters are decent. But will quickly become disoriented without recalibration from gps.
If you mean doing stuff like using ground stations to triangulate location, phones have been doing that already. Why would Pokemon Go have anything to do with it?
