Institutional inertia is real. Obviously every situation is different but in most cases they are not blocking remote access, they’re just tracking if you badged in that day. If you are still doing work, it’s going to take them awhile to respond - they are hoping you quit rather than having to fire you.



Usually it’s phased and they don’t cut off remote access entirely. They still want you to be able to work on the weekend at home…


Let them enforce it. Don’t quit, that’s what they are trying to accomplish anyway.



Can anyone explain why it was necessary to catch it chopsticks-style instead of landing it on the ground like they had been doing with the smaller boosters?



The people who decide to go public are looking to cash out, and the future survival of the company is not a factor in the decision. The lesson is not learned because it’s the corporate equivalent of starting a heroin addiction on purpose






In what way are they targeting the woke demographic? Is it because aliens?


The game dev postmortem/retrospective was a fascinating read.



Clearly this game concept was picked out of a hat.

Let’s see… Next game will be a cyberpunk… Tower defense… Farming simulator.


I have 600 hours in it so far and I only stopped playing because I built my freighter large enough that pieces started disappearing off it randomly



Left unsaid: the developers were starting to ask for more money and creative freedom than MS was willing to give, and had to be taught a lesson.

Also the market demands sacrifices.


It was actually a fascinating and well written, well delivered contextual analysis of a game called Smuta. It discusses historical events and current Russian politics in a witty and online manner






It’s generic in some ways but the combat and movement are very smooth
