I would greatly prefer public sector development. I’m just being fatalistic about how our oligarchy conducts itself.

I like democracy, but I don’t like our short-sighted (4-8 year) election-campaign-based governing. But between our public and private sectors I know we can meet this challenge and make this happen.

Man, I wish we (Canada) were that ambitious. I know lemmy hates Elon Musk but I really admire his ambition in technical pursuits. I’m not saying we need more Elon Musks, but we should pursue more grand projects.

But what about their freedom to cheat me out of my money and content?

I rarely play the stories anyway. I just like driving around, doing jumps, and having the cops chase me.

That’s a good point. An online game can be successful while having a limited shelf life. Make your money and shut it down (or just ramp it down for the smaller audience if it’s worth the effort)

Not if I completely stop using Google search.

I still want to know exactly what they’re talking about. But since they didn’t respond I assume they’re going on about nothing.

What was the nature of this hate speech? I don’t want to get involved with nazis.

I love kbin, never heard of mbin. Would you recommend mbin over kbin?

I like 7digital. Haven’t used the other ones.

That’s what I mostly use.

I use Nova Launcher. It’s pretty great.

I’m not clicking the link because that movie was worse than garbage. But does anybody know what this is about?

Yeah there’s absolutely no connection whatsoever, despite what the developers might say. I’m not knocking the games but it’s not the same character or world.

Nobody is surprised, though the workers may be shocked.

I’ve never encountered the ridiculous idea that Xbox was “community-first.” 100% of everybody has always known that Xbox and Microsoft are rapacious and exploitative hawkers. Nothing has been shattered here, except the financial stability of thousands of tech workers. Which is a normal part of the alienation of capitalist society.

Yes, we all want a sequel to Skyrim.

If old graphics aren’t a deal breaker, try the Gothic series, 1-3. They’re about 20 years old but they’re the only rival to the Elder Scrolls series. First person, action RPGs in open worlds with great storytelling and branching decision systems.

Not really. Occasionally I find a game and overindulge but most games don’t interest me. And Sega never seemed interesting even when they were the #2 company.

I had no idea they were still making Sonic games.

Nice, maybe the next Mass Effect game won’t have any cut scenes.

I’ll still pay for prime for deliveries, but I’ll stop watching their mediocre streaming service. Ads are viscerally disgusting.

I’ve played Starfield and it’s fantastic. There’s so much story. The world-bulding is different because there’s literally 1000+ worlds and they’re mostly uninhabited. I’m not sure what else you would expect. There are some huge, in-depth cities and some beautiful landscapes. But there’s also empty deserts and plains, just like we see everywhere in space.

I’ve had a few samsun galaxy phones. They have been really fantastic. Lightning fast and very reliable. The only other smart phone i’ve had was a sony xperia which was equally excellent. My current galaxy is 3 years old with 6GB of ram and it’s still lightning fast.

This has both more potential and more pure horror than any of the bland AI stuff we’ve been obsessing over.
