The flip has some great ports apparently. Balatro being one of them. I’m hoping for the same as you. I want a steam Gameboy like.

Looks like there has been an update: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKFUr1867U0

I just dont like laws that support things like this…

Is it possible to follow toby on Mastodon/any fedi? I know blusky has the bridge but does it work with his account?

Plus the forks are not on GitHub and other copies.

Theres also a Lutris: https://lutris.net/games/star-fox-64/

I’m thinking of getting a uconsole for this very reason.

Heretic’s Fork

wild music!

I loved cheaper world. Great series. I didn’t like the newest one unfortunately. Played the demo wasn’t for me. I liked 3/4 though.

Any recommended indie strategy, tower defense, or rogelikes you enjoyed? I recently enjoyed cobold core and peglin.

Everyone got on real quick.

Given that most games are no longer exclusives or can be emulated, it really doesn’t matter.

Steam lets you run on console, PC, custom, etc… hell even the same save file. Good times.

Yep I just go to indies now. The AAA studios feel just samey.

I quite like the style of the prototype.

Other games ive liked on the steam deck:

I like pixel games and/or great flow state. The SD has some of the best speakers on handhelds ive ever owned plus audio jack (wooo!). For flow games, ill often put them on and have an audiobook or podcast going at the same time.

  1. Peglin, fun little peggle rouge-like. Its a good flow state game.
  2. Coromon - Pokemon like game with excellent GBA vibes. Awesome pixel art, the coromon themselves look fantastic. Great little RPG.
  3. Dave the Diver - I recently picket this up. Ive been enjoying the game, again pixel art is great. I love that all the side charaters have these huge cutscenes but Dave is just…Dave.
  4. Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling - If you liked Mario RPG or the paper mario series, this is a game for you.
  5. Tetris® Effect: Connected - Tetris, but with trippy visuals/music. Great flow state game that you can play with your friends.
  6. Cobalt Core - rouge-like, FTL like, space game. Has a good story, fun gameplay loop. Another flow state game for me.

Nice. Its such small footprint game. Im tempted to get it for mobile/ other game console (portmaster?) just to keep going. Steam deck is great, but I need something smaller when I go out.

That’s a very good point. Only the pixel line realistically gets updated years after buying the phone. Wish the fair phone was available for a decent price.

I like the way the Steam Deck uses it. Just pops you back into the game. Multiplayer games will kick you but its game specific.

The demo was a lot of fun. My wife and I played a bit. Plays more like smash brothers with grabs than the first game. It feels a tiny bit slower, which is fine. They have a mode where you can see replays in detail, frames/hitboxes/etc… The roster of characters are a bit small, but the first game started that way too.

Might also be a reaction to the younger crowd getting dumb phones instead of the next smart phone. Or at least some of them. Met a couple and its wild. Cant imagine without a smart phone, but its apparently a thing.

I can also play over a decades worth of games from my library that saved my saves. And there’s no monthly cost.

The biggest issue with Analogue is they only make a small amount of these devices then they are gone.

I know right. Those are my complaints too. But I just jump back on after a while with a new run.

Wonder if they are trying to go after all the public/open source apps that are pulling from their site and removing the ads.

Ive been enjoying Good Boy Galaxy. Its a new GBA game that is also going to hit steam soon. Its a fun little platformer/metroid lite kind of game.

Ive put in an unhealthy amount of time playing Peglin. Its a peggle rouge like game. I didnt think I would like it, but I ended up getting it after seeing Many A True Nerd play it.

I just beat Cobalt Core. Its like FTL but has its own charm and playstyle.

Im waiting for it to come out! Looks like a fun game.

Itch.io has some great games. Steam has an entire section. Totally agree with you.

I just got Good Boy Galaxy. Awesome game.

Games:

  • Annalynn
  • Let’s Build a Zoo
  • Super Kiwi 64
  • Nuclear Blaze
  • Retro Mystery Club
  • Unsighted
  • UnderHero
  • Potato Flowers in Full Bloom
  • PowerSlave Exhumed
  • Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore

Im loving the steam deck and the amount of options we have now-days. But yeah lots of litigation.

Fun little game, thought I would share.
