What ableist connotations are there between “dwarf” and “entertainment media”

Video of people being exploited for entertainment because they are the stereotypical “dwarf”

dont see the relation bro, it must be because you just hate fantasy in general and want to kill everything fun

No you are trying to extrapolate from what I said into some generic ideal that I supposedly have. That’s not extending someones logic, thats strawmanning.

If you plan to argue that the entire fantasy genre needs to go

yes, by valve not putting in “dwarf” as a tag to make it easier for its customers to search for games the entire fucking genre dies. Put ASoIaF fans on suicide watch lmfao

The tourist attraction is based on the stories. And the stories are based on little people being ascribe magical properties, like “rubbing their head brings luck” or someshit like that. The fantastical stories live in a real context. And a lot of the stories about dwarfs come from an ableist view on short people.

Donator status does offer perks beneficial to game play. Its 5$ a month. But not p2w in the sense of the more money you sink in, the easier it is to advance.

Naaah make it beneficial why not? Plus merits are kinda important

If someone joins without referral that’s a merit lost to everyone (this is very sad)

Since OP didn’t post a link with referral I’ll post my own 😉 (you get merits if someone reaches lvl 10 hint hint) https://www.torn.com/2965724

Unfortunately I don’t have the time to give a writeup. Its mostly the lack of timely security updates. Or really most updates to the OS. They lag months behind and are of poor quality.

I switched to DivestOS to mitigate this but the installation procedure carries the risk of bricking your phone, in a way other phones don’t.

The most telling example of the poor quality of software security I think is that the OS is signed with publicly available test keys. This means that anyone with access to your phone could install any OS they want and you would not know it.

This is maybe not a high risk scenario for most, unless you give your phone to some dodgy repair shop, but its telling of how little thought went into it I think. Because, signing your OS with the android test keys should really not happen in a production with good QC.

Did they at least use their own keys when signing the operating system this time? I like what they’re doing creating a fairer supply chain and all, but the software side keeps being neglected. So much so I’m regretting my purchase of the fairphone 4 and instead wish I had gotten a phone which placed more significance to the security of the OS installed.

Poor/cryptic documentation sucks for sure. It means you have to risk your device which just increases the difficulty to start with that kind of hobby for sure. The only alleviation I can think of is to again hit the forums. Ask about the risks involved and how to mitigate them if possible.

I mean yeah disclaiming risks is important, but googling what you’re messing with is as important.

If I’m messing with a core component of something I’ll google until I’m 100% certain of the effect of what I’m about to do.

If someone were to tell me to replace some part in the engine of my car, I’m for sure gonna google everything about that even if I trust that person completely before I even pop the hood of my car.

KeePassXC and synchronise it with WebDAV. I trust my main key to keep it secure even in the cloud.
