Never tried it but recetly picked it up for free from epic store so will give it a try this summer!

I picked up mirrors edge again after some weeks without playing it and i cleared a level yesterday. Was going to do a session now as well, but now my save had been wiped. Probably related to me struggling to figure out lutris and heroic and messing around abit yesterday evening. It a little of a bummer but at the same time i found the game a little too frustrating - a good idea not executed well enough to be a truly enjoyable experience in my opinion.

I am abit indecesive at the moment. I fired up both tales of symphonia on gamecube and final fantasy 7 on ps1 yesterday, kinda want to start another jrpg but at the same time not quite where i want to commit myself to a long game. Also installing fallout 3 now so hm…

I fired up theme hospital for some fun this week as well though, that was a welcome nostalgia trip :)

Still have mirrors edge to continue, but this week i actually started setting up my own wow private server for some old buddies to play on. Will start for real after summer when they are more inclined towards gaming again. So far pretty fun to do (even thoguh just solo testing so far). I played a lot of wow 20 yrs ago

Mirrors edge. Started a few weeks ago and been getting a couple of sessions in since. Its quite fun but also very frustrating. The controls are almost there but its just janky enough for me to die stupidly at the same spot over and over if it requires some combination of actions that is difficult. I somehow survived jumping from a subway cart to another without understanding how i actually was supposed to do it properly. And the combat i dont like. But will likely try to play thru it.

I also just discovered that xenia has a linux build now so i will be exploring some x360 games in the near future to see the state of it.

I first got mirrors edge around the time it came out, but didnt play it much, think it was because of stability issues. Then ive always meant to play through it but never got around to.

And while you can only ever experience portal for the first time once, it is still fun to play thorugh again, especially if its some time ago and you dont remember how to solve everything.

I picked up portal 1 again, one of my favorite games. And then i also tried frostpunk a little. Seems cool but so far i suck at keeping the people warm

I also picked up a bunch of games on gog and might finally get around to play mirrors edge if it plays nice with proton.

I saw this some days ago and decided to buy ut only to realize i already owned it 🫠

What? I remember only small parts of the game being an rts. Didnt really like that part, but it was definitely not “the entire game”

Ive been a nintendo fan my entire childhood and early adult life. I would say i am (at least clasically) nintendos target audience. I agree with the sentiments in the video. Nintendo is doing a lot of shitty consumer hostile things and people forking up ever increasing prices for decade old games will only validate their business practices and quality will further decay (like the games industry in general). That is essentially what he is saying. I will not buy the switch 2 (this video did not change my stance either way)

Granted his overly negative rant was a bit tiresome, it felt like he was impersonating the angry nintendo nerd without the comedy. But that just feels like any other yt video rant these days

Iirc (and the story was not complete bogus) the first game was designed for it but some exec didnt like it and forced hud and minimap late in development and is why it feels easy and repetitive if you play with minimap. Wouldnt be surpirsed if ac2 then was not developed with that in mind and would explain why it doesnt work as well

For those more updated than me, what are your thoughts on Skyblivion and Skywind?

I recently finished main story in bully on ps2 (emu). About 55% completion after end mission, and 11 hrs. Did some additional missions to get me up to about 65% and then retired the game as im not all that crazy about hunting down blue rubber bands and whatnot. Did most of the classes, but lacked a few art and photography.

Moved to another ps2 title now: jak & daxter the precursor legacy. No experience with this series before, but enjoyable first 45 mins which is what i have been able to play so far.

Neverwinter nights still on the backburner for now, and tomorrow i will play some kind of multiplayer game with an old uni buddy of mine, but not decided which one yet

Been continuing my playthrough of bully on ps2 (emulated) since last week. About 35-40% in now. Really enjoying it. Controls are abit clunky and the story can seem a little incoherent at times (eg suddenly a character has disappeared from the school right after doing a mission where he was very much present), but overall it is just alot of fun. Not big on collecting things so wonder what % is needed to complete main story. But got my eyes open to ps2 catalogue now as i never owned this myself and there are lots of gems i have barely or never played before. Was recommended the other ps2-era rockstar games red dead revolver, the warrioes and manhunt last week and i will check those out later.

Intended to play some more neverwinter nights, but didnt find the time. Had a real dnd session tho

Ive recently picked up Bully for the ps2. Only about 5% in but finding it entertaining. Reskinned ps2-era gta with the same kind of humor. Still have neverwinter nights on the pc but not picked that up in a couple of weeks because i died on a boss and i dont like to die (im not patient in that sense). But also liked that and will try to play some more this week end.

I think it does. It is in invaluable tool for me to choose my next game and the farther from release the more datapoints make up the playtimes :)

Looking for user created Mass effect video from 2007
Oh boy this is a long shot but here goes: back in 2007 when mass effect came out i watched a user made video on gametrailers.com from the game which ended up being tge deciding factor in buying it. It was called (i think) just "planet" and featured mako driving on a red planet set to the track adiemus by karl jenkins (or perhaps credited as the adiemus project or just adiemus). I wanna get my nostalgia fix but i have never been able to find it again. So..... does anyone know how to find it? 🫠

Of newer games i am considering super mario bros wonder or tears of the kingdom. But i also never played metroid prime (had it on gc but hated the controls) - just not sure if i want to play it on wii (i liked corruption controls) or the remastered version om switch.

Ill probably also start a ds game i never got to play in parallel.

Maybe uncharted on ps3? Never playes those. As you can see i have not yet decided :p

I loved true crime! I was a gamecube kid so having something gta-like felt pretty cool when most “mature” games would skip the consooe entirely. Some weird stuff towards the end that put me off a bit iirc :p

Remember back in the days when ign almost never gave 10s? OoT was last 10 for nearly a decade (no looked it up before posting, soul calibur in 1999 was). HL2 and super mario galaxy both got 9.7 which was basically a 10. And when gta 4 got a 10 it was a big deal. I member

Afaik he was never the president unless you count a couple of months after iwata died as co-interim president

Dont know yet, but a very stressful period is done at the end of this week and i have some vacation after so from next week i will find an old gem and play the heck out of it

Yea i dug up the old mario and zelda big band album (from around 2000 i think) some time ago, its prerty dope

Theyve won for their rendition of metaknight’s revenge (kirby) previously. Cool band, love that video game music is becoming a new standard jazz library. Many people who grew up with and love video game music are now professional jazz musicians.

Just got a surface duo i will use for nintendo ds emulation, so when i get my new gamepad and stylus in the mail later this week i will pick up and start an old ds game i have never played. But i havent decided yet so im not really answering your question…

Thanks! Cant really find any passive ones for sale in my country and ordering online from amazon or ebay becomes quite expensive with shipping and taxes. I found a used surface pen on a local online market so I made a request for that. Thanks for letting me know about those, this stylus stuff is confusing…

Stylus for Surface Duo?
I just bought a second-hand surface duo running android for the sole purpose of emulating nintendo ds. I want a stylus to emulate that part of the experience, but all styluses are a lot more expensive than i anticipated. But they seem to include stuff i really dont need such as bluetooth connectivity and such like. Can i just get any pointy plastic thing to use as a stylus or do i need one of these that connect to the phone?

Absolutely loved that game. Was so stoked for its release (i watched one of the trailers oh so many times in anticipation) and got it at launch (not very patient of me…) and was not let down at all.

Recently played through Skies of arcadia on Gamecube (emulation). Always wanted to play as a kid, but for some reason i never bought it even though i actively saved up for it at one point. Was fun but wow am i glad i emulated it, because they do NOT respect your time. Being able to use save slots and to fast forward over the long battle animations (i skipped 8 hrs of that in total…) was essential for me actually playing through it.
