It is indeed, and I swear it hasn’t aged a bit at all!

Toy Story PSX and Super Mario 64 (DS version in my case, or the improved ports).

Huh, this sounds nice, although I don’t quite understand how to implement it to my scenario, my carrier does not allow hotspot either, that’s why your comment intrigued me, but I am not sure how to achieve this, even when I get the big picture 😅

For me yes, I can tweak my system at my liking, root breaking things is not something that has ever happened to me, all my bank app works without issues and I can’t remember the last time they didn’t.

I run Paranoid Android rooted along with tons of apps that require root acces such as Swift Backup, Adaway, App Manager, BBS, FKM, KonaBess, Pixelifly for Google Photos, Saver Tuner, Revanced, SD Maid, Termux, X-Plore etc.

And some modules like Zygisk, Detach, Pixel Launcher Extended

I know some of those apps doesn’t require root specifically (can work with adb) but for me is just easier to just put Magisk and call it a day.

I use SwiftBackup as my backup solution, is Neo Backup any better?

circumventing Hotspot restrictions from my Carrier.

What kind of restrictions?

How much improved in SOT terms?

What is the installer method that you have selected?

Because all but root method will prompt me to install the app.

Huh? Why?

What I have noticed is that the apps installed do not show in my HS, but that should be because Pixel Launchers I guess.

I’d get the Switch, you have a huge backlog after all.

For me the best way to play is using my preferred sbc handheld!

Fair enough, I’m still waiting for the APK version of Voyager because it doesn’t feel as near as smooth as some Lemmy Android clients, sadly.

Huh, I don’t think so, who finished this game at 100% without using a guide?

I don’t think too many.

I don’t and as I have stated, this is something I rarely ever do, I just kept it going because I did not want the experience to end.

How comparable is Super Mario 3D Land to Super Mario Odyssey?
As many of you I am a fan of Mario games (although I have yet to play some mythic titles like Super Mario Bros 3 or Super Mario World) and I just recently finished Super Mario Odyssey and loved it, I completed it at 100% (something that I rarely do) because I felt in love with the games mechanics, regardless I felt it was a bit overwhelming from time to time. I played it "for fun" like half of the time, the other half time I was just playing it with a guide on hand because I HATE FINDING HIDDEN STUFF, the backtrack needed for this and attention to detail is too much for my taste. I understand some people like this treasure hunt kinda quest, but it is really not for me. As Super Mario 3D Land aims to be a "handheld" game I expecting it to be simpler, but, after all this is Mario and I'd finish enjoying game mechanics again, to the end to want to complete it, I just don't want to have the guide on hand all the time, it would be nice if all hidden stuff wasn't that well hidden lol. Anyway do you think is fair to compare them? Or I'll be fine playing the older title and "stress" free?

Hotline Miami

Ahh so I see you enjoy some “brainless” (I mean some parts can be brainless, especially if you know the stage pretty well) slaughter after work.

I like the concept, but I don’t think we have endurable hardware for that yet… And I can’t afford them anyway.

I just hope they don’t end up like many of those interesting Android promises that go nowhere.

What really dude? I am playing it for the first time ever and I have read it is a masterpiece, but I didn’t know it peaked on emotional stuff as well.

Huh thanks for the explanation I just replied someone else about not having a clue why dev decided to go that route haha.

Yeah but I mean he should at least researched how good or active Tildes was?

Or is it more active than Lemmy?

I don’t know how to create apps, but IMHO that seems to involve a lot of time and research, even if you have a full baked one for other service, so I wouldn’t rush launching it into a “x” (no Elon shit) alternative?

Well I bet he has his reasons.

EDIT: Nevermind I got a repose with the context about his reasonings:

It is a shame that this is now a reason on the table to avoid sites like this.

Because it is a freaking awesome app and has a huge amount of followers, it is worth giving it a glance at least, if it is as polished as the former Reddit app then assure you it is worth it.

I was looking for a file manager because I was using Google Files or whatever is called and it is way harder than it should be to access all the folders in your Downloads folder… Simple File Manager seems to work quite well for this.

Also the music app since it seems that Android has not a stock music app, or that is what it seems.

Haha yeah, pretty much, I think first one is more memorable as well, is that case where the sequels just can’t beat the first entry.

I suggest Chrono Trigger, but that’s an obvious one.

If you like MP games like Smash Bros I suggest you to give it a try to Jump Ultimate Stars, it has a nice battle system and it is still a bit active in Discord thanks to Wiimmfi.

Be sure to play the sequel if you like it, I played it many years ago and I’m planning on re visit it as I almost forgot all the main plot lol (the only good thing about having a crappy memory I guess).

I never get to play the GBA games, only some few hours of one of all the entries.

I feel like the Switch version brings nothing to me, especially since these games are easy to emulate, heck I could do it even on my hacked Switch lol.

Be aware that maybe I am not very updated, Odin Pro was the best thing ever that is not the Steam Deck last time I checked and this market moves fast (albeit it doesn’t feel like it) so as I commented before, RetroGameCorps is the best source to keep you informed about this amazing niche gaming sector.

Even when I might sound contradictory I still think Odin Pro might be the best choice for PS2 with a tight budget… But it is not perfect, if you want perfection Steam Deck is the way to go.

You could also reuse your own hardware if you happen to have a competent phone, just buy a telescopic controller and then you can try PS2 games in your Android device, not the best in the world, but you might get a better idea of how this is done.

Odin Pro I think it has a SD 845 and runs on Android, so it is basically that, a phone with a controller attached lol.
