3D printer guy from yesterday beat them to it.

I’m with you. Love Bazzite in the living room, but no way would it be my daily driver.

I believe BigScreen and Bigscreen Beyond are two different orgs.

Rocket League, but just barely more than Skyrim from many moons ago.

Physical switch, huh? 2 guys and I worked an ISP in college as a start-up. 300 external US Robotics modems on the wall during the first year. THAT was physical switching, haha. Will give this a shot.

Doesn’t matter, compensation is in order.

If a company uses tools that act poorly, or does not invest in training staff appropriately, it is a decision they make to optimize their business.

When they fail, they should have to learn what the costs of those mistakes are. A tweet is not enough.

Yup, that was it! Just figured it out with GPT, too, hah.

And ChatGPT to the rescued. MDK.

Identify a 1990s game with initials?
There's a part as a sniper, I think, and maybe it was third person mostly? The name was initials that remind me of XKCD, like that sound, but probably 3 letters. And I feel like the character wore white cloths. PC game. This is a stretch.

Probably not what you’re looking for, but Elite Dangerous. I’m about to print out pictures of the controls just to teach myself to use them.

I would bet others like EVE Online for the bill better.

The interesting part to me is that you can watch football even when/if you can’t play football, but you could be gaming instead of watching.

This is not at all surprising. Almost all hobbies and sports are like this.

The only difference that makes this interesting is the fact that you could be gaming while watching about gaming, which is untrue for many other hobbies.

Nice.

For those reading and wondering, it’s still playable on Deck as-is, just have to figure out the controls and the sticks are very sensitive (could probably adjust, I just dealt with it).

Congrats! Demo was entertaining *cough controller support please cough 😉

This is great news. Sets precedent, which is helpful in legal cases, even if it was voluntary.

That’s not what the article says…

Granted they will be seeking additional damages in court, too.

I’ll go a different route. Control.

Thats not even the crazy part

Nintendo is seeking $152,500 in damages

There’s only 6 figures.

👍 review. Nice job. Comments: Would love to see controller support. Figuring out B was E was fairly straight forward, but looking around was way too sensitive on Steam Deck.

This has seriously become my picture of the day. You hit the All feed on my server almost every post.

I read the whole article, and when I got to the end I realized I read it simply because it was actual investigative journalism. It’s gotten so rare.

Outriders. And a bit more tame but Unravel 2 for in-person.

Android 15 has a desktop mode that can run on tablets without a monitor.

You have it backwards. Free and Open Source software is Open Source (subset). But Open Source is not Free and Open Source (superset).

Langfuse is a great example of where this is the case: https://github.com/langfuse/langfuse/blob/main/LICENSE

It is open source, but all features under the ee folder are not free, thus it is not FOSS.

No it isn’t. Open Source is not inherently Free and Open Source. This is the whole point of licensing agreements.

For those using an Elite controller, Bazzite handles the back paddles nicely (on Bluetooth in the Plasma version).

The implementation doesn’t sound terrible.

  • It’s opt-in
  • It’s basically a sidebar chat window

So if you already use GPT for day-to-day, it may be a welcome experience. If you don’t, don’t opt in.

I’m skeptical of GPT add-ons, bit at least this was done in a low-bloat opt-in way (which allows Mozilla to bring in revenue (probably)).

FOSS alternatives to Tasker?
Hi all, I've been using Tasker for a long time to do things like custom text to speech on incoming notifications, etc. I've recently picked up a Samsung Tab and was about to create some automations around Dex, but it clicked as I opened Obtainium that Tasker was closed source. Is anyone actively using another FOSS automation app that they've had good experience with? I've heard talk of Easer, but the docs don't appear to be in english. Thanks!

Why does tech reporting seem so bad now?
Is everyone just using AI and not proof reading? I see this a lot lately. Even Tom's Guide has bad editing, a good example is this article: https://www.tomsguide.com/news/pixel-8 > Most notably, the display looks set to shrink from 6.3 inches to 5.8 inches Then > The Pixel 8's screen is rumored to measure 6.17 inches, down from 6.31 inches. It's like they're just grabbing from other articles and cramming together or adding content to old news now vs analyzing and forming opinions. With all the LMG drama lately, I had hoped written news would take note. Maybe I'm just too picky.
