Don’t forget that EA is saddled with 20 billion dollars of debt and it’s board is filled with vultures. As far I can see, EA is going to be gutted and sold for parts. All this talk of creative control is bullshit considering, they are banking on ‘AI’ to cut costs, which is not exactly considered to be creative. Also, I am pretty certain this bet is going to fail hard.

Yeah, EA is completely fucked.

Bullshit. There are many other PC games stores and launchers. Only reason they don’t have lot of users is because they are just not very good. In my view, Valve is not actively trying to establish any monopoly, their competition is mostly incompetent, especially EGS. Of course, I understand that if devs want their games to succeed, they have to play by Valve’s rules, but let’s face it, that’s where customers are. This is not by some trickery of Valve. It’s because Valve happens to be very pro-consumer. So, I don’t agree with the assertion that Steam is a monopoly.

Epic games store could have been great and yet, Epic’s disdain for gamers has caused it to fail. Now EGS is just a glorified Fortnite launcher for the most part.

I am not saying that Steam or even Valve is perfect. They are not. They are just leagues better than their competition.

Honestly, I would rather have a great game later than a compromised game now.

Maybe, it’s just dumb ol’ me, but I don’t think market for virtual shit should not be worth this much at all.

One is an open ecosystem of decades worth of games, especially with the emulated ones and the other is a walled garden of over-priced games. Yeah, I am sticking to my steam deck.

Remember when Jensen Huang was saying the same about crypto? I remember.

LLMs are just as likely to replace to people, as crypto made cryptobros rich.

The original had character, but this “remastered” has no soul.

And I totally respect that. I can kinda understand, where you are coming from.

This is so stupid on so many levels. Catholic church must be getting desperate for new sheep.

What, you guys don’t have a personal nuclear reactor powering your 5090 GPU to run games on Super Ultra full RT settings at 480p upscaled to 4K?

I understand that it is for many. Just not for me. I prefer exploring lands and it’s many wonders.

Only souls game I beat is Elden Ring. Only by modding an easy mode into the game. I loved exploring in the game, especially the lore without worrying about dying because of my lack of skills.

If anyone says that a souls-like is only fun because of it’s difficulty is wrong, at least in my experience.

Oh, I am not surprised about that. Ubisoft were never really known for respecting their customers.

I completely agree. Clair Obscur feels genuine in a sea of live-service, in-game store laden modern AAA games. Almost like it was made for gamers and not investors.

The wait might be worth it. Since OG is already good, I am sure Proud Nordics actually might be better.

These games also show that ‘Actual creative people should be in charge of game studios, not MBAs, who only care about money.’

Ys X Nordics. Ys games really know how to craft adventures, definitely better than Ubisoft does, despite much smaller worlds these games are set in.

Suicide Squad is printing so much money that they don’t need to develop any game, in perpetuity. /s
