With as much puffery as this game was putting out prerelease, I kinda expecting it to be mediocre at best. Dunno if my prediction has been proven true yet but not a great beginning with this review.

No, they have Skyrim money for that. Imagine making money off of a game for over a decade, while barely putting money towards rereleases/ports. Didn’t even need a team for patches or content updates.

Not just a game. It’s a core part of any project management. Unfortunately, we’ve seen the industry does it very poorly overall.

4060 is a good barometer for a lot of cards out there. Cards several generations back can hit its rasterization performance. The 3600 is also below what I’d consider the average cpu for people playing this game. I’d have to look at Steam stats to confirm but a 4070S gimped by a 3600 is likely a great example of midrange.

Working my way through the second. Different tone and design decisions (for the better). They did a great job advancing and updating their ideas from the first. And it can look stunning visually.

Don’t apologize for having an opinion. Just apologize for discounting the ones that don’t agree with yours. It’s listed as very positive on Steam and sold very well. Your hyperbole about everyone saying it was bad is provably wrong.

It sold 4 million copies. The press lathered it with praise as a lot of major media outlets gave it 9s.

Game Critics Awards: Best Original Game

DICE awards: Best RPG

Nebula Awards: Best Writing

2019 Game awards: nominated for four categories, including game of the year

It was nominated and won other awards as well

Not surprised MiSide didn’t receive any press. The same thing happened for Doki Doki until a press piece went viral.

Outer worlds was received perhaps even better and was more popular than Avowed is currently. People’s memories are fuzzy I guess but Outer Worlds was a genuine GOTY contender.

You can set a default for opening links outside of an app. Like, i can set an app (if there’s an option) to always open links externally and it will open in my default browser. Unfortunately, from my understanding, apps are required to use default safari when opening a link in-app. It’s really inconvenient to open every link I click in the voyager app externally so I just open links in reader mode as default.

Technically all browsers are safari on iOS but apps like chrome, Firefox, etc. only use the shell.

I agree. I don’t keep track of what sites are horrible cause I don’t see them usually. But when it hits you, it’s shocking just how unusable the raw internet has become. Some sites I are fine but sometimes I just got copy paste to actually read an article.

You don’t browse that way. You browse the fediverse through an app like Voyager and the links you click go through the native iOS browser, without any ad blocking. You have to copy paste the link into your chosen browser to actually have ad blocking on iOS.

Clicking a link directly through an app in iOS is still eye murder.

I guess you can consider those as the current generation as they were also released on the PS5 & XSX. All of those games are cross generational though. I only played FH5 of those and enjoyed it as well. I would actually love another horizons game.

Indiana Jones would definitely support your argument. Here’s hoping it’s a sign that this year’s crop will be fun as well.

About time. Now to see if they are actually good. That’s been the real problem for Xbox. Whenever they release games this gen, they’ve not been well received by the majority. The games have had glaring flaws that were game breakers or just simply weren’t good enough.

Checks date huh, we still got two more months. I guess you can’t expect them to wait with a red hot jape like that.

I’m just not seeing much mentioned about inexpensive PCs nowadays. The PS5 Pro basically has a 7800XT in it, and that’s like $500 on its own. If you don’t play multiplayer games often, or at all, or you don’t care for the ps plus games, you no longer need to even play for ps plus.

I think the days of PC gaming being the de facto answer for value gaming are gone. It’s entirely situational and I’d personally say the pendulum has swung the console route. It’s unfortunate that we now have limited technological progress on top of expensive GPUs. Remember when you could wait 4-5 years and get a 100% increase in performance for roughly what you spent previously?

I thought the arc cards required a beefy cpu to get the most out of them? Used components are kinda cheating the argument because you could just buy a used console. I remember mathing out the pc argument and I just couldn’t justify it. The included ps plus games would also hurt the argument for stuff like steam sales.

If you played the same games, it didn’t make sense for me go pc. The only real use case I could argue was for the Steam storefront itself (and if you take advantage of fee Epic games). I don’t know whether console or pc benefits more from patient gaming or for buying mostly new games. Like… it’s not clear cut either way for a lot of use cases.

That used to be the case. I’d definitely be on your side of the argument before this generation. A $500 investment 4 years ago in an Xbox or PlayStation would run circles around a $500 investment into PC parts back then. Heck, I’d be interested if you could find something similarly powered nowadays. The GPU alone gets you to a digital only ps5.

The new game price difference between PC and console is largely gone. There aren’t many games released simultaneously on both console and pc that aren’t $70 nowadays. I definitely agree on the PSN cost though. Fortunately it takes years for that subscription cost to catch up to the difference in hardware coats.

I must be super behind the times. All I knew about Iron Galaxy was ports, Killer Instinct, and Divekick.

Second video posted from this creator today . The presentation is very off-putting. I’d suggest they take a different approach if they want to be taken seriously and to garner more credibility. I couldn’t make it through either video.

Was the ending controversial? I thought it was either disliked or considered merely “fine”.

It’s really a bummer that we never got the leaked version of the mass effect 3 ending. That definitely was more interesting and likely closer to its inspiration.

I mean, you chose your medium for playing games. The same thing exists for a lot of games. I’m quite sure you paid at least that to game in your platform of choice.

I’m assuming this is still PR to assuage people after buying a billion studios recently. It’s a shame MS has released so few games actually worth playing for the past decade. I think this statement might hold the slightest bit of water if that was the case.

This got an HD rerelease on the PS4 and a sequel. It’s unfortunate that people just didn’t buy it. I dunno if you can call a game forgotten when it was never played to begin with. I doubt the combined sales approached 500k.

It was fun on the Vita back in the day.

You pay $400 for it new or buy a used digital system for less. Sony even sells a refurbished disc version for $400 if you are weirdly stuck on physical (since I assume you don’t buy it that way with your current gaming hardware). Do you also quote the highest possible price for a cellphone or a pc?

This is a disingenuous take. All games require hardware and you definitely don’t need to spend $600 to play it.

It’s like 7 years old now. Let it go Bungie, it’s time to move on.

Inspired and Ubisoft are two words rarely spoken in the same sentence.

I call shenanigans. Blu rays still make up most of physical sales and that video quality makes up the most consumed resolution.

I can kinda see the argument for CDs but they are still sold new in big name B&M stores. “Close to worthless” is hyperbole at the very least.

We don’t call 15 year old cars ancient. Blu rays aren’t ancient. CDs aren’t ancient. Tons of things are 15 years old and fallen out of general use but aren’t considered ancient.

I’d argue that XP is ancient but not Win7.
