Waterproof and repairability are really at odds.

Ah, i think i misunderstood your comment.

In terms of archiving I agree, in terms of restoring a running copy from an archive, maybe not.

C code that reproduces a running binary on an up to date compiler is worse than a machine code binary for a legacy machine of which complete Emulation is not guaranteed?

What about the title is clickbaity? There’s no “the answer is going to surprise you”, no surprised face in the thumbnail, no “you won’t believe what happened next”. The video examines the question in the title.

Just a few weeks ago helldivers was one of the poster child dev teams that got gamers and therefore deserve their success. What a turnaround…

I expected it to be much worse tbh. Some shifts, but quite regular in a way. I thought it would sound more unintelligible in a Scottish way.

There is a difference however. The techno feudalists are no longer about the means of production. Instead they increasingly show rent-seeking behaviour. Businesses looking to own “market places” and becoming brokers of other people’s services is a techni feudalist trend. Take Amazon for example. They sell top spots in their search directly to business customers. An app store monopoly is more akin to land ownership than classic factory capitalism.

I guess the reasoning is

The company is doing great => the CEO does a great job

Company needs to downsize=> can’t afford a change in leadership in these trying times

It gets more complicated when the CEO is also a founder/owner

Ok, playing ut2004 with bots surely replicates the original experience…

Any multiplayer game will die once its community moves on. Whether it’s live service or not and one could argue live service helps prolong a game’s time in the spotlight.

Lol, Micro-Genre… I remember commandos and desperados being absolutely huge.

At that point why not just sell the file as-is. The drive would come this ungodly amounts of DRM anyway.

I don’t even like football, but the strategic depth, required game time and elegance of controls really hits a sweet spot.
