Oh you definitely need to be kitted up for it. It’s crazy hard when you’re under-geared. I went in as a level 56 wizard and got smacked by an elite with a big sword. I was just pointing out that you shouldn’t be a completionist on world tier 3 thinking you need to do all of that to be ready. Better to leave some of the side quests alone and save them for world tier 4. Start going into the nightmare dungeons and doing helltide to level up faster. Plus, some of the nightmare dungeons end up overlapping with the side quests anyways, so you get two birds for one stone.

Whispering keys are just for the random locked chests you find when exploring the world. I’ve generally found them to be okay-ish. I just keep 2 whispering keys on me at all times just in case. You run into those chests rarely though, so it is best to just buy the gear with the obols.

Also keep in mind that your main goal is to get to tier 4 as soon as possible by beating the capstone dungeon, I wouldn’t worry too much about being a completionist about the side quests at tier 3. Best to save a few for Tier 4 anyways for the extra experience.

If you’re at tier 3 start doing helltide and nightmare dungeons for better loot. You can of course do the normal dungeons for your base aspects that go into your codex of power. Sometimes it’s nice to have a base version of an aspect just as a backup so your build won’t completely break if you swap out an item, even if that base version gives you lower stats compared to the ones you get randomly on loot.

Also, do events that give you obols, which you can trade at the curiosity vendor.

Yeah if it isn’t a serious performance downgrade and doesn’t throttle hard after long periods of thermal load then the downgrade would be justified. Hopefully that’s the case.

Yeah, definitely bigger than 5mm…

There’s been so many times when I accidentally trigger the sensor with my phone when I am simply choosing a tip option.

Lol, I still remember the E3 trailer for Killzone 2 that Sony tried to pass off as in-game footage. Good times.

The success of you isnt based on the failure of someone else

Totally agree. Also, that’s just a great wholesome motto for life in general tbh hahah.

We should focus on building the community we want and people will come.

Well, user traffic has returned to normal, but we also have to consider that it’s just traffic. Some of that traffic is also a bunch of people talking about Reddit, protesting, etc.

That being said, I don’t think Reddit will die from this, but it doesn’t need to in order for the Fediverse to succeed. All it needs is to push enough people onto federated services and kickstart it, just like Twitter did with Mastodon. We aren’t going to all switch overnight, it will be a gradual process.

The new labels will “help protect younger viewers and advertisers”

Translation: The new labels will help us get more ad money. It’s got nothing to do with protecting young viewers.

Darn, E3 is probably never coming back, at least not in the form it used to be. Every major studio seems content on doing virtual conferences now and from what I hear, prepping an E3 demo was an incredibly draining and distracting task for game devs anyways.

I always loved watching E3 videos as a kid, shame that, now that I am older and can actually go to one, they’re all canceled.

So that’s why Microsoft’s purchase of ZeniMax and then releasing a Xbox exclusive out of the deal

Did they ever promise that ZeniMax games would not be exclusive? If so, then yeah, that’s pretty shitty.

but I really hate all of this buying and consolidation of companies, it really needs to stop.

Hear, hear!

Yeah, exclusives have been a part of the console business model since their inception, so it is odd that they’re just starting to look into this business practice now. Still, exclusives do need to die, so better late than never, I say.

Binning a chip based on its performance in the silicon lottery is VERY different from deliberately shipping a chip with worse thermals, just sayin’.

This is going to be such a stretch and I doubt this would ever happen, but if you could get a decently sized camera sensor on the back of a phone and a mirror less style lens mount…I would sell my DLSR in a heartbeat.

Good rule. Spoilers suck. Personally I also think spoilers for old games stink as well, especially if you’re a patient gamer. For example, spoiling the secret from Bioshock ruins the impact of the ending, no matter how old that game is.

Also just a reminder that Lemmy has spoiler tags as well (triangle with an exclamation mark icon), so if in doubt use them, like so:

Dumbledore did not have the high ground.

Digital Foundry did a tech breakdown for the Starfield Direct showcase. I think it's looking great so far! It looks like Skyrim and No Man's Sky had a baby and I am here for it.
