I’m someone’s favorite.
I didn’t get it right away, since I try not to buy anything in the first month it’s out so I get a good feel of the game. Also, you know… poor. But mostly the first thing.
But holy shit the videos of dragon fights… I had to fight an impulse buy.
Since then I’ve spent over $100 on various copies for various consoles and my computer, all on sale. It may not seem like much, but when 95% of my library was purchased during sales and events… That’s a lot.
It’s not perfect, but there are so many mods for it, you can tailor it to whatever you want. Personally, I like a bit of survival mechanics like food/water and temperatures/wetness. I also like the older oblivion style of magic combat.
Bethesda may not have made the greatest video game of all time, but at this point it might as well be the best fantasy RPG-lite sandbox I’ve played. The only thing that could make it better is a settlement system like fallout. I like to build.
All I’ve ever heard about planet coaster is that it’s an unfinished mess that got half-finished with hundreds of dollars of dlc, so hearing another is in the works is kind of like…
Maybe finish your first helping before getting another slice of pizza?
Man, I really want to play some elite dangerous, now…
Imagine if the x-men movies all had the same director, all from basically the same team… But the director made Hugh Jackman audition for the part of wolverine every single movie, constantly tried to replace him, constantly threatened to replace other actors, and ultimately Hugh Jackman finds out the latest chapter in Logan’s story is coming out soon, and nobody even bothered to call him about it.
Now replace Hugh Jackman with David Hayter, the director with Kojima, and the other recurring actors with other voice actors from the series.
I used to be obsessed with all things metal gear, and after tons and tons of interviews, tweets, things said in panels, and at conventions… Kojima is a fantastic creative, tells some great stories, and there isn’t a single negative thing I can think to say about that aspect of him… But on the personal side… Ehhh…
Very nice! I just picked up watch dogs and watch dogs 2 deluxe editions as a bundle for like $13 after tax.
I’m even eyeing the rdr2 sale on epic right nowcfor under 25.
There are so many good options that don’t look dated at all to me.
Honestly, crysis looked amazing on my 10 year old laptop. I kind of want to replay them again on my new one to see how much better everything looks on ultra.
Some people have this weird idea that big economic shake up (in this case, “people spending less money on games” is an economic shake up for the game markets) will magically only affect major companies.
Sorry, a recession means mom and pop stores (dev studios for this version) close while the giants keep going because they can operate at a loss for years without going under.
Smaller studios will fold long before ubisoft/ea/whoever is the current focus of ire.
I’d say I use my xbone and pc equally, however it isn’t my Xbox I’m looking to upgrade this year, since I don’t really see a reason to. Any game I want I can get on my new laptop, or I can play an older version of with backwards compatibility or game pass.
I’m okay with not playing exclusives for Playstation, since I’m not completely changing my gaming ecosystem to one that barely connects to pc gaming. Besides, they’re releasing a ton on pc anyway, so I probably just have to wait slightly longer if I want to play one.
I got a switch for my wife and she plays that thing every day, never really seemed interested in the Xbox though. Even though she’s playing minecraft either way. I think she likes the portability most.
Every time I hear about this game I go “oh yeah, that game exists” not because I think it won’t be good. I really want to play it.
I intentionally don’t look into anything I am looking forward to. My thinking is “if I have no expectations I can’t be disappointed.” and with a few exceptions, it’s worked pretty well for me.
So I don’t know anything about DBH beyong the genre and a few game design details (maybe a gameplay video of the tutorial mission) to make sure I want to play it. Everyone who talks about it says it’s got a great story, and it’s fun to play. Since I like the genre, I can’t see myself not enjoying it.
Buuuuut I don’t have a Playstation and my laptop is from 2016. Nothing can play it.
So patient I must be whether I like it or not in this case.
Also as far as I am concerned, if I get one hour of enjoyment for every dollar I spent on a game, I consider it money well spent even if I never play again. The two strategies together with patiently waiting a few years to play, and I’ve never wanted a refund on a game. Even the ones that ended up becoming a grind in late game, because I didn’t spend much money and already got my enjoyment/pay ratio before then.
Personal feelings agead: not based in facts.
Can we really say a “next generation” console is “in its latter stages of life cycle” when people like me have yet to buy a “next generation” console, and have bought every new game for said console?
I’m not denying it’s got better specs. People always jump all over that, tripping over themselves to “um ackshyully” about how it really is superior in every way making it a “next generation” but come on… If I can get the same or similar experience on “last generation” then is there really enough difference to call it a different generation?
Take my sister in law vs my me vs my wife. We are all millenials.
But SIL is start of the millenials, my wife is tail of the millenials, and I’m sitting around the 3/4 mark. We all had differing experiences growing up based on the years we were on our formative years, but we’re all “the same generation”
My wife’s best friend is a generation below us, but they have far more in common and should really be considered the same generation, IMO.
I hope I get my point across clear enough for someone to figure it out…
It just doesn’t really feel “next generation” to me.
you don’t need to know what the problematic content is
You seem like the kind of person who would become a moderator, start banning people and when they ask why they were banned you would block them after replying “lol get fucked”
In what way is acquiring more knowledge a bad thing? If I don’t recognize any possible problematic content, but other people say it’s there, why shouldn’t I be a Le to ask what’s problematic about it? Have I been going around being casually racist without knowing?
Like damn my dude you’re getting pissed at people for wanting to better themselves.
Tldr old man yells at clouds for an ideal personalized pirate game
I want a game that’s a cross between “Sid Meiers’ Pirates! Live the Life” and the pirate portions of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag. With graphics like Black Flag.
I want to be able to choose and customize my own ship, not be stuck with a Brig like ac4 and I also want to be captaining from the deck, not floating above the action like Pirates! does it.
I also like the damage model from Sea or Thieves. It’s not a “1hp you’re floating and shooting at 100% and at 0% you explode/immediately sink” it’s a “you’ve been hit, you’re almost definitely taking on water so get to damage control or even if you win you could still lose”
If ever there was a game that could have utilized the voice control features some consoles tried, it’s a game where you’re captaining a ship and calling out orders.
Imagine you’re in the middle of a fight against a sloop, and they get off a lucky hit, so you have to call out orders (or hit the corresponding button menus) to get some of your crew on patching the holes, getting your top deck to load up chain shot to take out the sloops sails so you can board and capture it for a nice scouting vessel. And if you want more immersive realism like how some driving games go all out with clutches all the way up to tire/ambient road temperatures you can fiddle with settings to make sure you need to call out all orders or face debuffs in combat. Forgot to call out your orders leading up to firing? Ooh sorry now you need to wait an extra 3 seconds to shoot a full salvo.
It’s a niche game though, it’d never be able to make the money back that would need to go into it to get all the features running smoothly with each other.
Games like that very quickly become “go here scan that defend X so you can make your gear numbers go up”
I admit I no-lifed Destiny 1 and The Division 1 when they first came out, but nowadays I only play those kind sif games if they’re free to me, and usually not for very long.
There was a time when “number go up” would give me that dopamine hit my brain desperately craves, but not anymore.
I did finish TD2 eventually but more because I felt an obligation to finish what I started, than it being a good game…
Wellinaturally assume any game is shit on release in regards to bugs and stuff so I try to avoid games for a few weeks minimum. I’m more of the Patient Gamer type. I can wait a few years until the game is more or less in final form before getting it.
It sounds like that’s exactly what I should do here. I might toss gamepass a few bucks this month to try it out. it sounds like as is, I would stop playing when I go to build. I absolutely love building things, I used to crash fallout 4 all the time because my cities were so filled with things. Then there’s starfield where I got to s point and realized the entire cargo system was broken, and stopped playing the game entirely. Not like I was playing it for it’s gripping story…
This game might be perfect for others as is, but imma wait a bit and try it Soonish.
“But that still doesn’t mean you’ll get to play it”
Well then it doesn’t exist.
And until I actually am staring at the introduction screens, it’s vaporware.
Have we gone on long enough to see the endless wheel of “HALF LIFE 3???” once again spin back around? I remember seeing a handful of these a year, every time valve did anything.
Expect nothing, and you can’t be disappointed.
