Well I’d love for an online game in a world crafted by naughty dog. No other online games really match their quality (maybe the division 2).

This looks great. Going to throw it on my server tomorrow and see how it is.

Can’t wait. Don’t even care if there’s some kind of progression or events they keep out of pve mode. I just wanna sail and fight skeletons in peace.

Well, I guess I expected too much of the lemmy community to not leave a bunch of idiotic, uninformed, seething comments on anything SC related.

It’s just reddit without all the content.

Got back into starcitizen recently. Just doing solo salvage missions and being frustrated when the servers crap out and everything quits working 😃

Seeing Ivan the space biker, proto Barney, too much coffee man, and the skeleton models were a really hard hit of nostalgia I wasn’t prepared for.

Yeah looks like the case. I’m happy to see them going this route and taking steps to alleviate bots and scalpers buying them all up.

It seems like maybe they’re being updated in batches on the store. I’ve seen it show out of stock for a few minutes and then come back in stock.

I’m dying over this. I preloaded my steam wallet, left a meeting early, and started spamming the buy button the second it released. Couldn’t get the purchase to go through for 30 minutes so I’m panicking the whole time. Turns out 5 hours later it’s still in stock rofl.

Yeah. RDR2 is absolutely a masterpiece. It’s why I’ll still consider buying Rockstar games, but not on launch. They don’t get day one buys from me :D

I have very little hype for new rockstar games considering I know right now it’s not going to have story dlc and it’s going to be simply a vessel to get people into the online mode to spend buckets of cash on cards.

I can’t wait for them to fix the performance issues. If it was great on release I wouldn’t have picked up Anno 1880 for $13 and developed a horrible addiction.

Holy shit I thought it released oct of 2024 for some reason. I have plans for my weekend now.

Just switched from starfield back to cyberpunk for the 2.0 update. It’s consuming my life again. When I finish the dlc I’ll switch back to starfield and let that consume my life.

This is a really interesting way to phrase a compliment on their timing… if that’s what’s happening here.

I feel bad about supporting the preorder system, but fuck me this game has been fantastic so far. Long weekend babyyyyyyy

Damn hyper capitalism. THQ should have kept funneling money to a company that couldn’t make a game people wanted.

That makes zero sense. Explain why BG3 is not worth $70. Give me real data showing that. How much should it cost considering how many people worked on it and how much was spent developing it?

It takes 75 - 100 hours to beat the game, and that’s just one play through and that one play through can take even longer depending on play style. This is the kind of game people can get several hundred or thousands of hours out of. Show me any other hobby where you can spend $70 one time and get hundreds of hours of enjoyment.

Hell, even if you sped through the game as fast as possible and spent 50 hours (made up number, not sure what a speedy play through takes), that’s still a LOT of time for the money spent. Take an uber out to a movie with friends, then go to a restaurant, then uber back home and you’ll have bought at least two copies of BG3, yet you got a few hours of entertainment.

There are next to no other forms of entertainment that give give you that many hours for your money.

I dunno. Baldurs Gate 3 has a truly unbelievable amount of content in it. $70 for it is almost unfair when you consider how far $70 gets you in almost any other hobby.

I bought it and refunded it. The gameplay was good, but the performance for me was atrocious. Playing at 4k with DLSS on performance saw dips into the low 40s during some fights. Dropping all the settings down to the lowest didn’t help. I have a 3080 and 3800x. Runs worse than big open world games with ray tracing like cyberpunk. How they managed that is impressive.

I’m so fed up with damn near every game having awful performance at release these days.

Every time I get back into Skyrim I spend a dozen hours over a few days just fucking with mods, then I’m burnt out and don’t play the game lol.

Oh, I should mention that it’s releasing on PC and Xbox game pass

cross-posted from: https://lemmy.world/post/1656114 > Tried the demo a few months back and it was super promising. The devs seem like wonderful people too. They're a small team and I'd love to see them get some support and for Techtonica to be a success!
