if I should wait for a steam deck 2
there will alaways be The Next Device. There are no real hints that it will release anytime soon.
So if you’re interested in picking one up, now is a good of a time as any. You can also save some money by getting a refurbished 64GB model and upgrading the ssd yourself (takes just a couple minutes, a screwdriver and a thumbdrive with usb C to reinstall steamOS)
The EU now has a digital wallet payment system in a trail run

Would be neat if they integrate it
They are doing that only for paying users for 10
Note that these switches mainly trigger a magnetic sensor to switch the power to the camera
It’s not physically disconnecting it.
And in theory you can move the bezel away from the display a bit to activate the camera, if you have physical access (although you’d probably notice if something bulges the bezel)
yeah, proton is amazing.
I’m using linux for 17 years or so, and just kept my gaming rig as my only windows machine.
Gaming on linux was super hit or miss. Sometimes wine (at its forks) worked nicely, sometime it was unusable.
It got a LOT better when everyone started using unity and unreal, as they have native linux compatibility, but proton now closed the gap nicely
