This comment is very conspiratorial. While this change is making people more vulnerable to malware and lessening their freedom, the screen lock thing is complete nonsense. Your launcher has been given permission to keep the screen on. If it is the system launcher and that permission was provided automatically, all you need to do is use another launcher.
The official Google blogpost states this timeline:
October 2025: Early access begins. Invitations will be sent out gradually.
March 2026: Verification opens for all developers.
September 2026: These requirements go into effect in Brazil, Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand. At this point, any app installed on a certified Android device in these regions must be registered by a verified developer.
2027 and beyond: We will continue to roll out these requirements globally.
There is no PR stunt here, just the need to read. Unless you are considering a PR stunt the claim that it is 50 times more likely to get malware from outside of the Play Store, that is just a complete lie as the Play Store is filled to the brim with malware.
If she loves to tinker with old devices or just needs a dumb phone, sure!
If you want them to have a functional smartphone, Android 2 is unfortunately super dead. The only Google service/app still working is Google Maps (you need 6.14, from 2014).
There are no projects to port newer browsers to Android 2, so you will get by with what you can. The last browser to have dropped Android 2 support is Via Browser (4.0.9) around 2020. If a custom ROM to Android 4 is available, you will be able to install the latest version of this browser, but it is still the last browser to still support it.
Yup, that name is for PAL releases only.
I thought it would have been a much more in dept experience, instead I find character interactions very simplistics. I expected for interaction to have actually a bigger impact, when its honestly pretty meaningless especially with my character only knowing a few sentences outside of cutscenes.
Missions or tasks honestly feel more like chores thogheter with the lessons, that I feel like leave you with little time for missions. I completed chemistry and english, and feel like I can finally breath somewhat before completing art and sports. I hate how running from dorm to class you still end up having to dodge the principals because apparently you are late and are wanted for “unjustified absence”.
I honestly also don’t really like my character too. It is prothraied for his real dislike of being pushed around, yet it almost feels like he kneels to the feet of Gary Smith like its really nothing for how trusting he acts. But I am still at the start, and with how Gary acts I feel like this dude is 99.9% going to betray me.
30% Discount? You need to give the phone for free or for an extremely low shipment price.
This is a shit move to get money from more financially challenged people at that discount rate. It’s not their fault they paid for something they need from an “unauthorized” sellers, and definitely a lot of people don’t have the money to buy the phone again but from you.
Nha, I ran away from Windows for desperation for all the bugs, issues and extra steps necessary you have if you do anything remotely advanced. Doing advanced user shit and gaming in Linux for 2 years.
I have a job as maintenance, in a two months 3 Windows devices had issues that could be attributed to Windows breaking on its own.
It’s not GOG that does that. A lot of developers that publish there having lost the source code or the tools and knowledge to build it upload cracked or patched releases themselves. And it’s not a GOG thing either, as for example Sam & Max: Hit the Road is just the cracked DOS game bundled inside a ScummVM runner on both Steam and GOG releases.
I moved to Nova because ADW stopped getting supported. I still prefer the latter, and I guess I have no reason to use the former now
