I feel like aside from full-on accessibility settings for those who need them (which absolutely should be implemented and the FromSoft devs don’t get a pass on this), they could do something as simple as a 2% speed, health, & damage nerf to all their enemies and it could be enough for most newcomers that have paid for the game, but didn’t get anything out of it. Like me. There are probably a huge amount of people that bought the game because of glowing “this is GOTY” reviews and couldn’t get past even Margit.

I didn’t even know it was out. I thought it wasn’t coming until later in the year.

There no way this wasn’t a flop

So it seems we don’t create our own hero? Which, I get that it would limit facial animations and dialogue, but becoming your own hero was such a huge part of Fable.

Anyway, it looks stunning, graphics-wise. I’m looking forward to it for sure.

Hoo boy, Kevin Hart doesn’t even look like he knows how to hold a gun at all. Did nobody think to give him any semblance of weapons training?

As a very new PC gamer, supplementing my long time Xbox gaming, the biggest advantage of consoles is that games always work OOTB (or OOTDownload).

Sometimes with PC gaming, a game just doesn’t run for whatever reason, or you get crashes, or any other weird issues. Most people don’t want to have to tinker in settings just to get consistent framerates.

Including myself, because I don’t have a lot of time to play and I don’t want to waste that time troubleshooting.

And the DLC though was absolute garbage. I had paid for the season pass and it felt like they released a bunch of stuff that should have been free.

I liked Wonderlands, even though it felt a bit short and wasn’t really as funny or gritty as the first two.

Since BL 3, it’s felt like the games devolved into a very childish humor, not in a clever way, but just an unfunny way.

Like, I know the first two games weren’t the peak of intelligent humor, but at least it felt they were intentional about how they utilized less mature jokes.

And the gameplay and stories haven’t been as good since BL2. Handsome Jack really stole the game in the best way.

I enjoy a lot of these long-form critiques. I literally spent the whole 4 hours to watch that 4 hour critique of Galactic Star cruiser by Jenny Nicholson.

Not all the long critiques are good, but some of them really are great.

I also watch upwards of 3 hours speedruns of the Fallout series so…

Please do, I’d never heard of this before now, but it looks interesting.

Same here.

What “creation and self expression” means to corporations is micro transactions in the form of skins, textures, and single bits of paid content. Like buying a horse, then having to pay for the farming bundle.

2K, a subsidiary of Take-Two, published all the other borderlands. Based on that history, it’ll probably be fine.

But based on “growth opportunities,” it’ll probably run the game.

I’m in the US and I’ve not seen any of it either.

Windows 11 kinda sucks, I don’t know why it’s so hard for them to design a consistent UI, but I’ve not seen this ad nonsense.

I am using adguard DNS across my network, so maybe that’s why?

Yeah, Pixel 8. I feel like the software is so full of bugs, at times it becomes unusable.

Well let’s hope it’s not a Cities Skylines scenario because the second game is a complete shit show.

And even the first one has many issues.

It’s the line on the right side. I’m in portrait mode, so it should be at the bottom.

This happens all the time. Happens when I go to the app switcher and resets when I go back home. But as soon as I hear back into the app switcher, it moves to the side. Here it is as I write this post: ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/60a263d7-1384-46e3-8703-7ec65c3e100c.png)

Because Tears of the Kingdom felt like it was running at 24 fps and 720p, with even further framerate drops, making it feel unplayable.

So it’s become difficult just to actually play games on it. The games have surpassed the ability of the hardware.

Fuck me, they announced the first switch in 2015?

That thing was underpowered when it came out, let alone now. They could likely grab a bunch of sales by coming out with a higher-powered system alongside a cheaper version, because many people would like to play games at higher than 25 fps.

I was going to buy it.

But now I’m not. I don’t have a PSN account and I don’t care to make one just for this game.

The games industry is real crap now. There’s so much resistance to just being able to download a game and play. It’s always about downloading proprietary launchers, signing up for new accounts, wading through micro transactions, unfinished games, bad stories, and bug-ridden experiences.

It’s exhausting.

Don’t feel lame. I’m not buying it now. Requirements like these are taking over gaming and it’s asinine.

I’m not creating a new account for every new game I want to play. Ubisoft, Rockstar, EA, Sony, Microsoft… It’s absolutely maddening.

Half the reason companies do this is to spam your email address, track you, and sell your data.

“Releasing exclusively for Meta Quest 3”

Great, they told us upfront why I don’t need to care about it.

Toyota Hilux: the middle-east terrorist’s truck of choice.

But seriously, those things are everywhere in the Middle East and Africa.

They really need to give it more powerful processors. It felt like a shame that Tears of the Kingdom ran so poorly that it was uncomfortable to play.

Nintendo’s games deserve better hardware.

On a related note, why don’t they put a GPU in the dock so that the games can run much better when connected to a TV?

“Search Engine” is essentially the replacement for Reply All, but with just PJ Vogt. It’s really good.

That’s honestly what astounds me sometimes, but I guess it makes sense. There’s heart, soul, and passion in an indie game made by a small team.

AAA games fall victim to the “designed by committee” sameness and just-good-enough gameplay.

Bunch of ostriches with their heads in the sand. They’ll regret voting Republican when their freedoms are taken away too.

Or they probably won’t because the mental gymnastics they do over there could probably win good at the Olympics.

It’s really not a wasted search, but I agree this is not the community for the post.

Project 2025 is the Republican’s plan to essentially dismantle government agencies, consolidate power to the president, and make the LGBT+ community illegal. Among many other fucked up things.

The introduction of the document is absolutely essential to read. It’s truly scary stuff.

Probably for engine updates, systems improvements, performance improvements, graphical improvements, to recharge people for more game.

That’s why they would do it, not saying that’s what they did, except that last point.

Welp, guess I’m going to get rid of Disney+. I already hate that they flooded it with Hulu content. I very much cannot let my kid browse through unattended anymore.

I mean, Poor Things is on there now and it has some of the most explicit sex scenes I’ve seen in a movie in a long time.

Lol, how could I have forgotten that character.

I never got that impression that the two aspects were inseparable. And he is a very exaggerated representation of a gay man, so maybe it’s that exaggeration that hints at it making fun of those who think gay people are all flamboyant rapists.

Though, I admit it sounds like a stretch.

They definitely make fun of the rich though with the guy who’s building has a golden turd on top of it.

I don’t remember any part that implied anything about gays being rapists, what part are you referring to?

IDK, MS really went all the way with backwards compatibility. They literally built emulators for the 360 and OG Xbox in order to let people play old games using old disks they already owned.

I’d be shocked if they didn’t stay committed to this.

You’re in luck, Hellblade II is 8 hours long and only $50. But of course, you knew that having read the article.

Fucking please. And I know MS quality isn’t great, but I absolutely hate everything Google and Apple have been doing lately

Take-two has always had the IP. 2K, a subsidiary of T2 has published every Borderlands game anyway.

This won’t change anything because Embracer didn’t publish any or the Borderlands games.

I was so frustrated with BL3 given that BL2 was basically a masterpiece.

I hope they go back to BL1/2 territory by simplifying and paring down some of the bloat.

Handsome Jack worked so well because he didn’t feel forced. And Pandora worked in 2 because it was merely an expansion of what existed in 1 without trying to go way too big like BL3.

KISS works well for many things, but especially the Borderlands franchise.

This is a permissions thing. It makes it so that apps can only access the photos you select, instead of giving it blanket permissions to all photos and files.

It says so right in the popup. This is an added feature, not something that’s been taken away.

Crouches repeatedly over your dead body

“Fuck! Sweaty ball smell again!”

It’s so easy to forget Luna exists. I feel like 1) it’s just not advertised anywhere, and 2) that nobody talks about it.

Do people even use it? I can’t imagine it’s going to last all that long if even Google can’t make it work.
