Them calling you a whiner was a massive dick move. I hope they have their ass roasted (in a video game. Literally, as in they cannot win a single multiplayer) for that insult.

I bought Star Wars squadrons and it worked for a bit. Now it doesn’t even boot and I don’t know why. Initially it was my shitty anti-virus that was causing the problem, but even after disabling it it doesn’t load.

This is why I will always have some nostalgia for physical media. I still got CDs I bought in the 90s (which I’ve copied onto my hard drives a long, long time ago) and while they need a like coaxing to work at times, they are forever mine and no one can take them from me.

I was very hesitant to go on steam specifically for their ‘you don’t own shit even if you paid and followed the rules’ garbage.

Descent… man I haven’t played that or magic carpet in ages. I need a trip down memory lane later tonight…

Shit, mentioning the T1 really made me have a minor flashback. Yeah. Back in the 90s computer processing power varied dramatically between users. Like when I got a 386 around 1990 it had a whooping 40mb of space and 1mb of RAM. It was a lot for the time. We never had to run anything directly off disks. But just 3 years later when Doom came out (and I remember the launch of Doom) i was surprised that we couldn’t have it because it needed 4mbs of RAM. Also our computer wasn’t fast enough anymore so when we DID finally get it years later we needed to use the smaller screen option to get it to run fast enough otherwise it was too choppy to play.

Someone playing Quake, a game that only came out a few years later, with that kind of machine you’re talking about would dominate. Not because of skill, but simply that his comp has the speed that can allow him to act and react much faster than his opponents.

It would be like if you took a modern formula one race car from 2025 to a formula one race in 1925. A medicore driver would win, but not for skill.

And specifically to make sure the reality of Nazis are shown. Like in the literature you find in the newer Wolfenstein games, the stuff is shines a light on how stupid the Nazi ‘scientific’ mentality really was.

Yeah but China isn’t my main concern right now. I got plenty of questions to ask and knowledge to seek and I would rather not be broadcasting that stuff to a bunch of busybody jackasses.

Thank you very much. I did ask chatGPT was technical questions about some… subjects… but having something that is private AND can give me all the information I want/need is a godsend.

Goodbye, chatGPT! I barely used you, but that is a good thing.

So can I have a private version of it that doesn’t tell everyone about me and my questions?

For me, it is just that the game never ran. To make it clear, I don’t think I ever had the WC2 full game, but the demo, but that didn’t do much either. I remember being at a cousin’s place who seemed like he had it, but again… it just didn’t run. It seems like all the forces that be in the 90s just didn’t want me to play that game.

I did not lose interest in 2. I simply couldn’t get it. I think we had some demo versions but they just… didn’t work. I have a functioning copy now, but I haven’t played it much. It is a fantastic game.

I never got into WOW. As a 90s kid Warcraft was always the FIRST game in the series. I couldn’t get the 2nd one as a kid (and only played part of it a few years ago to get it out of my system).

This hatred for old games makes me want to take a shit outside their offices.
