Oh for sure, fuck these companies. I’m just saying don’t take it out on Itch.io and their current scorched earth approach, their hands are tied.
I think all games being hit is a temporary measure while they get some sort of new process in place. We’ll see where things land.
Either way, card processing companies shouldn’t be dictating what kind of art consumers can consume, even if I don’t personally agree with the content of some of the worst offenders. If it’s not outright illegal, they can fuck off.

Option 1: Locked down but ready to use shit box that shows you annoying ass ads against your control
Option 2: A full ass computer for slightly more that let’s you do anything you want, watch anything you want, full control over ads or anything else, but takes some extra steps to get going.
Sure man, if you want the ready to use shit box, have at it. I’ll stick with the clearly better option 2, personally.
I honestly feel like AI placeholders are the best case for scenario for AI use. For example, letting your programmers and designers move forward with placeholder art while your art team (of actual humans) can simultaneously work on the final assets with a better idea of how they’ll fit in place.
No one’s getting replaced, no one’s rights are being infringed (depending on model). That’s the dream right there.
