Tell me you missed the point of my comment without telling me you missed the point of my comment.
Surplus just means more than is needed. Lack of shortage does not mean more than is needed. It can mean a number of things, and in this case, it means that scalpers didn’t manufacture a shortage, which is news because last time they did.
It makes sense given the context. The article is trying to distinguish between a surplus and a lack of shortage for 2 reasons.
There were shortages worldwide for the ps5, and much of the issue was attributed to scalpers. So it is significant that there are no shortsges this time.
Saying a surplus of ps5 pros means everyone can buy one, isn’t really news without there being a reason that might not have been the case.
But he is just giving an opinion. Sure if you want to scrutinise then his credentials matter but for the sake of this video we should take it at face value as its not like he is going to be taken seriously by sony. But echoing an opinion shared by many is important with the small platform he has.
Looking at his channel it looks like he makes games for nintendo. And it would appear he has done other work outside of that field.
If more people in the industry follow suit or if this gets more people talking about sonys terrible decisions then im all for it.
He says in the video. He’s been a marketing consultant for some really big companies. No one is better to talk about poor marketing decisions than someone who does it for a living and for big companies. And his iew point aligns closely with what most people are thinking.
Tbh you can decide for yourself how valid what he says it. Just watch the video. Its only short but it makes alot of sense.
It would be interesting to do it the Kotor way. In that game you could customise your character but there was also a canon version of the character which followed the light side ending and had specific clothing.
I thought i remembered that the writers considered revan to be female canonically too. In Kotor 2, in an early scene, atton refers to revan as “she” or “her” so potentially they intended that to be the case.
But in individual games it made no difference because you could customise.
Like when i read Harry Potter, i took the descriptions of the characters and they looked a certain way in my head, until the films came out and solidified how they all look to me. I think everyone did this. It didnt matter to me that they looked different in the films to how i imagined. It was just the “official” versions of them.
Jumblie #240 🟢🔴🔵🟠 8 guesses in 4m 34s https://jumblie.com
One of my guesses was one of the correct words, but my last tap didn’t register, but honestly, i thought it was asking for popular films. I might have got it a little quicker with less guesses if i had realised.
Fun puzzle.
But the statement was in response to using mindflayers as the main antagonist. Or the big bad. Which we both agree, they were not. So whilst they were a big part of the plot they were not the main bad guy and so…
To circle back
They were used in bg3 (sort of)
Edit: also sort of doesnt mean “they didnt use them fully” it means they weren’t the big bad but they were very closely linked. The big bad was the netherbrain alongsode gortash. Not the mind flayers. You can look that up.
Wgen the final boss is a mindflayer(s) then come back to me and let me know. Until then, dont tell me what i meant when i said sort of…
Its a shame because they are really fun games. Lots of nostaloc references as well as twists on the original story, which keep this game fresh. Fun characters, voice acting has high and lows, the new take on old key scenes is great.
Remake is quite linear but still allows for exploration and finding missable secrets. Rebirth has a more open world style mixed with some linear parts to keep the pacing up.
The main thing is it makes a lot of the scenes and story beats from the OG a lot more impactful and meaningful. The animation and acting are (mostly) really good, and I’ve really enjoyed it so far.
Its easy to think its bloated because they had an entire game for the first few hours of the OG, but its not telling the exact same story, and it really doesn’t feel loated when you actually play.
It feels like a whole new game with a great combat system, and it’s really worth a go, imho.
You played 50+hours? If it was boring why did you give it that many hours?
I couldnt do that.
I didnt even give it the time of day to purchase it. After diablo immortal and the rest of what had been going on with blizzard around that time i knew the diablo 4 was going to be a cash grab and a waste of time.
Have a look at this for timesplitters 4k pc port
I saw it a while ago and remembered it whe i saw your comment.
Its nice to see a low cost microtransaction, and nice to see that you can get the currency in game but really thats just the same as it was a few years back before it went full 100 dollar for a reskin mode.
You are defending a game by pointing out that its money grabbing methods are less greedy than another company.
Games wont make the billions and billions they make now if they move away from the in game purchases models but they also evidently dont need billions and billions to operate.
Some of the best games on the market were made on small budgets by indie developers and sell well because the are fun and people actually want to play them.
I think you might be, haha.
But in the i terest of a fairer comparison, i had a quick google and found this game “atomic heart,” a generally well received game with high ratings and the following from Steam Revenue calculator
“We estimate that Atomic Heart made $55,756,625.68in gross revenue since its release. Out of this, the developer had an estimated net revenue of $16,448,204.58.”
New ip, single-player, shooter.
Comparatively, immortals lost money and tbey apparently laid of 45% of the staff who made it to avoid losses.
Case in point. Baldurs gate 3.
Single player (with optional co op multiplayer) but massively successful.
Not to beat a dead horse. Its just the first example that came to mind.
A huge amount of very successful indie games are single-player and even other AAA games.
They talk about the genre being dead but they forget that most games dont charge you to play them anymore. They make money through in game purchases selling cosmetics and battle pasees.
These game genres could be described as dead by the same criteria if they cost actual money.
In addition to that jimquisition that another user commented, remember that its easy to say “it doesnt affect me if i dont buy it” but people do buy it. Some people spend silly money on cosmetics and if people keep dojng that then it encourages game companies to spend less time on making the games good and more time on pumping out cosmetics.
The proof is in tbe pudding. Games are mostly shit now.
These are massive companies whos sole aim is to make money, not entertaining games. They dont care, they will just follow the money.
Wow. Why are some people so fucking deplorable sefl important entitled shit heads? Because they have a fancy job title?
This guy was clearly overworked and underpaid, and his seniors sound like they believed they were higher beings. It might be painted with bias, but if the facts are facts, then blizzard are still as bad as they were with kotick, and they need serious reform and restructuring.
I hope someone fires the HR team and the senior managers that did all of this because they dont deserve the money they are likely paid to treat people like shit.
I will say what i have said to another user here.
I did not intend to state that fomo was a crime. I didn’t actually say that at any point.
I did say, and mean, that coercion is a crime. That is true from a legal standpoint.
I then gave my opinion, or my philosophical argument, that i believe that fomo is a form of coercion.
It’s not complete gibberish, and i wasn’t lying. You just misinterpreted what i meant.
I coild have been more clear in my argument, but it’s disingenuous and kinda shitty of you to call it complete gibberish when you clearly understood what i was saying.
Stop trying to aggressively argue with me when we could just discuss this like normal people.
That completely fair. You can definitely interpret that implication from what i said. I need to be more careful with my choice of words in future.
However, i assure you my intent was not to make a legal argument.
I was saying that coercion is illegal, which is true. And that i believe that fomo is a form of coercion, which would be my opinion. But it doesn’t read that way.
Sorry.
No, fomo isn’t illegal. Coercion is. And although the legal definition of coercion doesnt include the mental distress one feels when feeling like they might miss out it doesnt mean that it cant be argued from a philosophical angle that fomo is a form of coercion.
Your view that it bares zero resemblance is very static.
Only a sith deals in absolutes 😜
You know, maybe i dont know enough about games as i am a casual these days, aside from baldurs gate 3 which is a fucking masterpiece, i really like the 2 (soon to be 3) star wars jedi games outcast and survivour. They are like a much easier souls mixed with the 3d prince of persia (sands of time, warrior within, two thrones) games but are very story driven. I am very excited to see what will happen in the final game in the trilogy qhen it comes out.
