This is a super underrated fun little game. Great on steam deck or similar too if you prefer a handheld.

Warframe. First game I’ll play in 2025 too.

Honestly, we all can’t be much more useful than any of the “Top 10 games of 2024” YouTube videos because we don’t really know your friend or his tastes.

A Steam gift card seems like a good idea? Let him pick his own games?

This isn’t made by EA. These are the same people who made It Takes Two.

EA makes shit games themselves these days but their program for supporting smaller independent studios has resulted in some really great titles.

This is a very odd and out of touch comment with what the game currently is and what is being produced by the devs. Have you even played it recently? All the new Varlamore region stuff is aimed at early and midgame players.

And yes, the game progresses towards grinding endgame encounters… Like every single MMO ever. If you’re friend is a maxed out account farming for ultra rare drops, I don’t think you can say that what he is doing is “the content the game has to offer for people”. What would you prefer instead? What do you think it should be like, if not this?

I mean… They have grown. The studio is bigger, they don’t have other revenue sources like Blizzard does really (also Activision Blizzard is owned by Microsoft, if you’re worried about a games company being owned by someone else that just wants profit…), and shit costs more now than it did 10 or 20 years ago. I wish it didn’t but inflation is a thing, and that thing affects the food and housing bills of the employees at companies.

For what it’s worth, OSRS has made some absolutely amazing improvements in the last couple years. Almost every single update has hit perfectly with nothing but minor errors or complaints. New expansions and regions, new quests, new raid, weapon and damage rebalances, new bosses, new community events and special game modes, new updates to their clients both mobile and desktop, and most importantly a significantly better bot-busting system over the last few months.

This shit isn’t cheap. That’s a LOT of parallel systems and work, and OSRS continues to have 0 micro transactions outside of membership. True, RS3 and its cesspool of mtx helps fund OSRS, but I don’t know how far that goes since the player count there is stagnant.

Now your opinion and choice to not support a company is always valid, that is up to you. But I don’t think it really is a “bullshit” price increase. I’m OK with OSRS costing $2 more per month if it means that this current cadence of content of QOL updates marches on. Jagex has been absolutely nailing it and I’m very happy with them, and that’s worth money to me.

Steam is literally constantly doing showcase events for different genres of small games.

I’ve heard the hype but I have never played this game. What am I missing out on?

You’re like 5 years late on this realization. Unfortunately not much is changing.

Perhaps an unpopular opinion, and I preface this by saying I do not fully understand the ins and outs of game development, though I am a software engineer (just not a game dev).

“Worst MMO Ever” series by Josh Strife Hayes

Solium Infernum as a standalone game is quite fun. I haven’t played TWW3 though, so I couldn’t tell you how similar it is.

Really liked the trailer, added to my wish list. Looks very amusing, I love that type of writing humor.

SSX Tricky will forever hold a special place in my heart.

I mean yeah it’s fucking horrifying. But this weird ass poster pretending to be a game, and posting it in this community, is disingenuous. Maybe that’s the point. Still crappy.

What the fuck is wrong with you people?

EDIT: to save you a wasted search and some targeted ads, Project 2025 is some weird thing about Trump’s political agenda. This post is a shitty political ad, farming search results and clicks.

Seems like the laser cannon is supposed to sort of fill some of that gap.

Is it really? The hold up for me switching to Graphene has definitely been android auto compatibility. That’s huge.

dBrand has goof ball marketing but excellent customer service and their Grip cases are fantastic.

Ok so if you read the second thing I said, it’s that it should be illegal to lay off some people while giving raises to others.

The idea is, sometimes, you don’t have profit and do have to lay people off. And that can be ok. If you have enough revenue to somehow still give your executive raises, that is fucked up.

You angrily agreed with me.

Businesses sometimes need to consolidate expenses for long term planning. I understand this.

What should be illegal is laying off regular employees while awarding record high pay, raises, and bonuses to c-suite level employees.

Well it doesn’t help that our health insurance is directly tied to our employment. So if you get laid off then need a prescription you’re right fucked.

Just so much of the OSRS league, it’s honestly like crack.

That’s literally what this is. As long as you have your Sony account login still, you will be able to play your account on PC.

It’s still around! And there’s a little discord full of super nice people who still play it and mod it and maintain a new forum.

I replay EV Nova (Arpia plugin, of course) every few years and just absolutely love it.
