It was tricky to find actual numbers so correct me if I am wrong, but if you look at the entire lifetime net profit (not revenue) of Elden Ring since it’s launch, it appears that Dragon Ball Bokken made all of Elden Ring’s profit in just 2024 alone.

When you read Bandai’s financial reports they always open with their mobile games, with From Software titles getting an “honorable mention” at the end.

I’ll miss my download of Lost Cities and Lode Runner 3D

All I want is practicality and replaceable parts. Still waiting for a FairPhone like device to reach the US

The thing is it seemed like Sakurai wants to do other things, but has no choice but to work on smash 28/9.

I think the only dumb reason I stopped playing after 25 hours was just not having a convenient storage chest as I tend to be a hoarder in games.

I even went as far as figuring out how to make a mod to improve the storage chest.

My thought was to see if I could edit the ship’s chest to show a bigger screen of items and have either tabs or separaters for the name type.

Anyways if I were to replay it knowing that I shouldn’t just try to pick up every crate and scrap I see I would likely get farther.

That sounds like a fun job being the Game Pass negotiatior. That must be a rabbit hole no one will ever know about of all the weird wheelings and dealings and language used.

If you ever want to dig up a hot mess I recommend the deals with Hasbro/EA/Fantasy Flight Games.

One example is FFG could make any star wars product they wanted as long as it wasn’t classified as a board game or video game. So they made “miniatures”, “cards”, and “apps” but no board games or video games despite them obviously being so 😆

The other weird deal was vendors had to buy Star Wars products through third parties for some reason but not direct from the maker

The slogan since the antiquity

Oh, ha.

I do run a game store nowadays and it’s interesting to see diehard board games on message boards get confused why their favorite games sell so poorly compared to more mainstream titles. 😌

Isn’t Diablo 4 one of the top profitable games this year (if you include extra transactions), and are there deets on how much Overwatch 2 makes in a month?

Naturally gamers here don’t care, but I imagine much like Madden or Fifa the mainstream buys tons of Blizzard stuff.

When I did in home jobs decades ago there were quite a few people who played Warcraft and not even remotely familiar with other games let alone how to use their PCs

Has any info been leaked about how much money Xbox pays companies to have their titles on game pass?

I have trouble figuring out what keywords to search online.

In the past I recall Microsoft paid $10 million for a one year exclusive to GTA 4 DLC, and in that court case it was revealed Epic paid $1.3 million for the Batman games for the free week.

I can only imagine MS pays From Software Monthly, and I can also surmise MS knows how many digital downloads sell so they have leverage in negotiating a price with From Software.

Unless no one cares enough about thos to dig, or the info is public on their shareholder financial statements and I’m too dumb to find it.
