Damn shame Linux is so unfriendly to anti cheats.

What about Linux do you think is “unfriendly to anti cheats”?

Thank you for noticing 😊 — I have hope that it’s a practice that will catch on eventually. I do my best to not engage in conjecture: If I make any claim, I try to make sure that I cite it. The same sort of thing goes for anything derived from logic — ie I do my best to describe my thought processes to make sure that I reduce the possibility of incorrect assumptions being made on anything that I post. It’s a little bit tedious at times, but I think it’s important.

While this is peripherally interesting to hear, without Linux support [1][2], I am not personally interested.

Nope. No way there because of their anti cheat solution. Sorry.

I mean, that’s a cool looking QR code that I’ve never seen before, which I suppose is technology related, but, other than that, I have no idea wtf this post is even supposed to be.

Now that’s a sequel! It reminds me of how Risk of Rain 2 is to Risk of Rain.

I honestly forgot that this game existed. I remember it being very well made, but I could never fully get into it for some reason.

There’s no need to port the game. Just make sure that the Windows version is compatible with Wine/Proton.

EDIT: Nvm — at the end of the article, it states that it’s probable that part of the reason why the Linux version was cancelled was because proton already works well.

On the Linux side, it’s also not overly surprising given that we have Proton now which enables the game to run with a tick of box on Steam. I even showed it previously running really nicely on Steam Deck with Proton using the demo.

This is mostly likely a bug on the maintainer’s side — sometihng went wrong in the signing process, so the verification failed on your end. There most likely is nothing that you can do to fix it. You could try reinstalling the package, but, beyond that, I’m not sure. I would report it if it persists, though.
