You’re going to love this machine :) Have you picked a distro?

Tell me about it they even put a comma in a number that less than a thousand!

2nd best thing, the best thing is the thriving pro scene!

The answer always seems to be no for both performance and development reasons :(

I played Sin pretty recently for the first time. It’s pretty rough honestly. Pretty goofy game with enemies that seem a bit too deadly. I eventually turned on cheats to breeze through the game lol

Good, I’m sick of playing lowest common denominator console ports. Develop for PC and let the consoles have the degraded experience, not the other way around!

I’m playing Postal 2, I think this is kind of what you’re looking for lol

I watch both and I think Brood War is more interesting to watch because there are more fights that last longer and the RNG factor means you can’t tell how the fight is going to go before it happens. There are a lot of tense and exciting moments in Brood War compared to SC2. How many shots will miss when shooting up a cliff? Will this mine detonate and kill 3 dragoons? How long will it take the player to notice that a DT is slaughtering drones without a notification? Will the reaver shot connect or dud? Will the scourges connect?

Basically SC2 is a lot easier to play with very little RNG. Pro players don’t even attack each other early anymore because every cheese is solved. Brood War has a really good rock/paper/scissors balance that has shockingly lasted 25 years with no real balance patches. Also the game was remastered and the graphics are beautiful now.

There very much is still a scene and it’s pretty popular! The meta continues to change which is insane for such an old and allegedly “figured out” game. I see pros using units in matchups that I thought were completely unplayable. There’s a new funky half-island map (Roaring Currents aka Screaming Seas) that has shown some really wild games. I’m rambling, please check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/@SOOPesports_EN

I play Starcraft 2 today, but freely admit that Brood War is way more entertaining to watch!

I’m still grateful that Blizzard did the Overwatch free weekend so I could determine for myself that it sucks ass.

The characters and the story are so obnoxious dude. Pretty graphics/art and the music is good at least. I just beat Ghostrunner 2 and it feels like I’m still playing that game with all the wallrunning, grappling hooks, and last kill slo-mo lol

Dude SOMA was so good. I still think about the story and it’s implications. After you beat it, there was a Youtube miniseries about it that starts off strong and then gets pretty weak. It’s worth watching at least the first couple episodes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L8I_J2VjsqQ&list=PLWjnM4fZ4U8wLxrFXjL-95ME0QJwdz8m8

I’m playing Akimbot and it kinda sucks. I didn’t realize I was buying a kid’s game :/

Please don’t do this to me. I 100% this game and it makes my trigger finger stiff. I have no choice but to check out this new character!

Edit: How the fuck do you unlock the new character?! Also I couldn’t figure out how to get this new version, it’s just the normal official version. Switch off of betas in Steam if you’re on them.

Edit Edit: You unlock the new character by visiting the crib by using the screwdriver on the special car.

Just don’t gamble if you don’t like gambling (or if you like it too much). I never got into any skin microtransactions ever (except for a voice pack for Starcraft 2 which is something for myself and not something that other players see). I don’t play CS2 a lot, but when I do I have a good time and I just ignore all the skin stuff. It’s out of sight and out of mind. Other players show me their skins and ask if they’re cool. I don’t know man, I don’t do arts and crafts with my tools.

Imagine being so much of a turbovirgin that you have to ddos arch virgins.

(I use Arch btw)

Shantae and The Pirate’s Curse. This weeb game showed up in my GOG library for free somehow, so I thought I’d install it so I can decide that I hate it, uninstall and move on. The problem is I love it because it’s a great fucking game. Casual platforming, metroidvania elements, bangin’ ass soundtrack, every character has giant tits for no reason. I recommend it!

It’s not kernel level on linux, it never prompted for admin.

I played in a UT2004 tournament at SCALE or LinuxWorld back in the day. I got 2nd or third place and won a Sun backpack and some other swag. First place was a whole ass Sun computer. I played a few Starcraft 2 tournaments but I hate competing in it. It’s a lot of waiting, playing on far servers with worse ping, and playing against much better people a lot of the time.

OTXO and what’s even more impressive is that the developer of the game made the music himself! GhostRunner had a bangin’ ass soundtrack too.

I’m big time out of the loop on Runescape, but I’ve always wondered: Is the old school runescape really better than whatever modern runescape is? It seems popular.

I also use UBO and I scrolled down a bit and got a pop up saying the content is for donators only so I closed the tab.

I enabled javascript on this website just for it to tell me to go away lmao

I used to have all 50 capital cities memorized from Carmen Sandiego, Broderbund was the goat.

Edit: I found a picture of one of my original disks!

I watched some videos of ET:QW and it looked really dated and I lost interest haha. I bet having nostalgia for this is probably required. I still really want to play gunman chronicles, I can hang with a Half Life engine game!

Good article, I just wish it would say why the game still isn’t available. I never played this game but went down a little rabbit hole looking for it and ET: Quake Wars and it’s insane the hoops you have to jump through to play these games that used to sell. I still hope to jump through those hoops one day and try it out.

wtf I didn’t know Jubert and Prunty were on this joint! Hopefully the remaining team will make Natural Selection 3…

Oh man this looks like the original NES Bubble Bobble which I loved! I even hear the same theme song! I hope this will be good because I can’t resist buying it!

Holy shit I just reinstalled, the new beta is great! For Linux players, make sure you force proton compatibility or else it’ll run the native Linux build which is not the beta. This beta has high FPS and properly locks the mouse into the window!

I’m avoiding it because it just doesn’t look that fun. I played the last 2 new dooms and they were good, for console shooters. More PC gamers should have higher standards than this. I don’t want a dumb story about medieval times, collecting dolls, linear maps, cyberdragon mounts, running from arena to arena and then starting repetitive wave fights. Just make a good shooter please!
