Youngest boomer. Mainly playing League of Legends at the moment as support.

I’d like to apologise to my ADCs in advance - apart from the crappy ones.

Inertia. In the UK, for example, every local government council, the NHS, central government, charities etc use user Twitter//X as a free channel for announcements and publicity. Quite often they manage it though things like Hootsuite that lets the, plan and manage and cross-post to Facebook etc.

Deciding to quit that is quite a major step - especially when there isn’t really a clear single alternative that has similar reach and userbase.

I’ve really never met one that really cared, other than knowing that a green bubble meant you knew that certain things weren’t available in chat

… or by providing some that works really well for the majority of customers.

What was she complaining about?

Come now. They released some cool Mac games before they were snapped up by MS

What’s this business about Epic changing from a game developer into a ‘platform’ and him no longer being a good fit? Anyone able to explain that a bit?

I mean, I still think World of Warcraft has one of the most atmospheric sound tracks out there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lM_RlI5qVXI

So your saying they didn’t time the share sales with respect to the announcement- they timed the announcement with respect to the fixed share sales date.

Oddly enough, I have an iPhone 7 I still use occasionally. It got a security update yesterday - https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT213913

That would make sense apart from the ‘open a 30 year old laptop’ comment. There are plenty of 30 year old Macs about that will run on their original OS

and Apple has EOL’d products too soon as well.

What examples were you thinking of?

Still no 64 bit support for M1 Macs, sadly

I can’t see why not. With Apple it is a simple on-off toggle for each device and of turned on the user chooses one device that they want to use to indicate their location

I used to LOVE TF2. I wonder if they have updated it to run on 64bit Macs yet

As someone who grew up with the Spectrum (and I suspect can remember most of the levels of Manic Miner) - wow!

Our US friends may know the Spectrum under the Timex, rather than the Sinclair brand, I think.

Basically, they had a free application called ‘Textwrangler’ for many years and decided to wrap it into the free version of the paid-for BBEdit etc.

Ive used the free version for 10 years and have never felt the need for the paid for features. It’s pretty cool. Here’s what yuo get in the free version:

I’m a Mac and iPhone user. I don’t think I have any subscription apps.
