To put it bluntly, if they make something I want to buy, I’ll participate, but this live service shit isn’t anything I want to buy, so.

They’ll learn eventually, I don’t care what they make. It’s all mostly cookie cutter garbage. Support devs going against the grain like GSC and indie devs. Let AAA die. What’s it alive for, constant disappointment?

I’ll tell you what it is. Freedom.

We can make servers, host servers, have our own communities and set our own rules. Hell, I haven’t played a Valve server in five years.

Overwatch isn’t a matter of better or worse. It fails to do, at base value, what I value TF2 for, freedom.

Add however many neat little gameplay mechanics you want, if I can’t play the game the way I want to, I’m not going to get into it or care.

shrug

Same reason we have Barnes and Nobles in the states. I like to browse before I hit zlibrary.

Counter Strike’s online market is the 1.0 alpha build of memecoins.

It’s at about 5TB. I’ve got it copied. Just fine, man. How’s your collection, going?

PCSX2, on a Steam Deck and a Retroid Pocket 4 pro. The memory card is in a syncthing folder.

Stalker 2… but this being patientgamers, and I’m always playing a classic game.

Burnout Revenge. I’m about halfway in.

Yeah, it’s the best racing game ever made. There is no other sense felt while playing it other than pure joy, bewilderment and holy shit.

I went looking for a patreon or donation page… Guys who get hit with this should just go that route. He doesn’t have a general one up.

We can’t control the bullshit, but we can side-step it.

Doesn’t matter to a kid with a phone and unlimited time and willpower. I know with 100% certainty, if I was 16 and wanted to play Balatro, I wouldn’t be talking to you, I’d have an .apk already.

Storefront? Lmao.

man who normally buys “narrative-driven, story-rich games” forced to put his money back into his wallet

Walk up to area full of rather boss looking dudes, fuck em all up, take their gear and then spend 30 minutes ooing and aaahing over said gear has been a cornerstone gameplay loop for many games for decades.

It’s, dare I say it?

fun?

Fill the area with cool lore, art direction and fold it into a story and hey, maybe it’s a little more fun.

Just works

transcoding, tho…

Well, almost. Can’t have everything.

LEGENDURY GAMUR EDISHIN: $150

Saving hundreds of dollars by switching to piracy?

Priceless.

what’s in your SSD?

I usually solve this issue by… just playing something else.

It sounds hard, but I assure you, nothing is impossible.

I wasn’t buying their games because they suck.

Anti-cheat was way down the list of reasons. It’s not like even on Linux that there’s a drought of games to play.

I guess they just can’t handle Team Fortress 2.

If they’re still using Windows, they aren’t following the guide very well.

Fuckin up at step 1 doesn’t inspire confidence from me

I’m sorry, I should’ve considered your situation.

I wasn’t aware you lacked the ability to use your computer. How inconsiderate. I was under the impression you weren’t renting it.

This doesn’t end well.

What if it becomes a requirement of software not available outside of their OS?

Of the CPU itself?

DRM intensifies

“There’s no elephant in this room.”

Windows is the problem. There’s the elephant. Your choice.

If not, I guess just keep waiting it out. I’m sure it will get better any day now.

Or… vacuum mold them one, out of vinyl.

Oh we’d find something to complain about.

There’s really nothing like it.

Stalker takes all of the advantages games normally give you and crush it down to “You ain’t important, bullet-cushion.”

Firefights feel like they have stakes and risk is intense. Nothing that happens can just be shaken off, everything needs attention. It’s not a normal FPS.

Execution is a small part of “the planning”, man. That ain’t even fair.

No, they stare at both monitors simultaneously like a Chameleon.

There’s retro streamers and smaller/older streamers that aren’t so hype and “ON IT” all the time.

Sometimes I just want to be around the community that surrounds a game I am enjoying. If I am playing a JRPG, I may spend more time in a JRPG discord going back and forth with users, or go find a streamer playing it and pick their brain a bit.

It helps you not feel so alone with the experience. You may be the only person for miles and miles to boot up Breath of Fire IV, but rest assured, someone out there wants to talk about it.

Every teenager on YouTube has suddenly become a professional gaming industry analyst for EA, Microsoft, Ubisoft and Bethesda’s failures, and could probably put it on a resume.

“The problem with the industry today…”

Fill in the rest with whatever and you’ve got hours and hours of angry, dissatisfied content for others to nod with.

“ABYSMAL! UNINSPIRED!”

That’s the spirit!

I ain’t gonna tell nobody how to live their life or nothing, but, uh…

I have a script endlessly deleting and downloading BOTW on repeat so Nintendo experiences thousands of lost sales every few days.
