I really liked Stray, short and sweet with an engaging narative and solid visual design. Simplistic gameplay, but it’s satisfying enough to keep things moving.

It certInly is, it feels very hollow and empty compared to earlier games. I feel that it marks the beginning of the end for Bethesda, it was a pretty steep decline from there.

I get why most people prefer the legendary remaster of the first game to the original, but I would have liked it if they’d carried a lot of the design and narative choices into the sequels. EA bought Bioware in 2007, and I think it shows, but I love jank so perhaps I’m not the most impartial judge.

The exp requirements for each skill level are exponential for every seventh level, so the half way point in fully levelling a skill works out to be level 92 (out of 99)

What are the chances, I was just looking into installing it again. Here’s a handy article I found about the various mods, for those interested.

I try to listen to the HLD soundtrack every so often, but always find it slightly uncomfortable without the game

I’ve been considering getting back into Dead Cells recently, and this is just the push I need, thanks!

Sad to see LOTR being whored out like this since Chris died, clearly the other descendants care for nothing but profit

How wonderfully specific, truly a timeless treasure of a game

I found it very enjoyable, great music and gameplay, very fast paced, definitely worth trying out if it’s free.

I saw someone on lemmy recently say they dislike when game reviewers say that “this game is like another game”, it’s prerequisite knowledge that not everyone has, and it’s lazy writing to boot. Since I read that comment it’s been irking me as well…

I had a feeling that was the case when I played it…

No one’s out to destroy games Freeman, you’re just being paranoid

I’ve gotten into Wasteland 2 recently, I love Bryan Fargo and Chris Avellone’s work, and so far it’s holding up. I’m coming off of a Shadowrun: Dragonfall playthrough, so apparently I’m in a CRPG mood at the moment.

I didn’t down vote, but I’d assume that people on lemmy skew towards a dislike of centralised corporate structures, especially when they’re pushing a subscription service in place of game ownership, and so they’re not so much disagreeing with you as they are simply upset by what you’re saying. Of course, I may be wrong on that. Personally I think it could go either way, I think their aquisitions have not yielded the return that they may have hoped for, and I really hope that gamepass fails, but it doesn’t seem like it will. Que sera sera I suppose.

Definitely a non-zero chance, at the very least

Great game, and Chipzel did such a good job on the soundtrack

I struggle to believe that the content is worthwhile with a thumbnail like that… but you’ve piqued my intrest, well done

Wow, you stirred up some kind of hornets nest. I, for one, don’t see anything wrong with any of your comments. They were perhaps blunt at times, but never derisive or derogatory, just thought I should put it out there.

My personal favourite is somewhat active on there: https://bird.makeup/users/dark1x Sadly though it is one of many areas on mastodon that is lacking.

There’s plenty of old games with active player bases, the battlefield games off the top of my head are still plenty active.

A little pedantic but New Vegas was developed by Obsidian, not Bethesda

I believe couch co-op is comimg for console, although apparently the devs are having some trouble with it on xbox
