Hm. In my opinion Outer Worlds was just as boring and mediocre as starfield.

To be fair, the point of framegen is for high refresh rate monitors. You’re assumed to already be hitting good fps numbers at baseline. And dlss is made mainly for 4K native res. I’m sure nvidia doesn’t mind people thinking otherwise

Ironically this will lead to less optimization on the part of games being developed. Why spend time and money optimizing your game when you can rely on dlss and 4x framegen to get players good frames?

I think it’s 60 or 120hz on TVs. Idk the technicals but I think it’s the same concept. Dlss framegen just does it based on ML and is probably more complex.

Non-DLSS isn’t looking much more powerful. Like it or not, games are going to rely more and more on this type of upscaling tech (and frame generation.) It kinda sucks because it gives excuses not to spend time and money properly optimizing games. On the other hand, these types of technology are quite interesting and the new dlss model looks good (I’ll be waiting for a proper review to have an opinion.)

All that being said, I’ll upgrade next generation. I need to see a lot more new good games come out to justify upgrading my PC parts. I don’t think dropping $1000+ just to replay Cyberpunk for the 3rd time with higher frame rate is worth the expense.

Not everyone has many options in their 401K. Most large cap mutual funds track the S&P500.

For me it’s just about account fatigue. It’s just yet another fucking one-off account that will eventually get hacked the next time Sony has a cyber security breach.

Never played it but if it’s comparable then I’ll check it out.

Eh well Elite Dangerous is technically an “online game” in the most minimal sense possible. And it’s the best spaceship sim ever made by far. It’s not perfect by any means and I hate Frontier Studios, but it’s still the best. It depends how “online” this game is. Could be good. Could also be hot dogshit. Idk.

Luckily I think the rumors are that index 2 will be real PCVR but also wireless. So hopefully that means we can have actual displayport or hdmi uncompressed.

So cute. Is this your guy’s first time falling for a HL3 hype fake-out? It’s like watching babies take their first steps.

I believe that the compression is hard to see in certain scenarios. But i just want that sweet sweet uncompressed raw signal source lol. I wanna use my PC to the fullest extent for VR graphics.

The quest controller can’t do 20gb/s. It’s the Quest hardware limitation. It is compressed.

The quest 2 headsets most definitely are using compression. They literally have to. There’s no way you can pump that much data through usb c, given the quest’s usb controller specs.

Does the quest 2 let you use steamvr supersampling in pc link mode?

If it’s standalone i hope they have a way to use it as pcvr. But actually pcvr. Not this usb heavily compressed dogshit that other standalone headsets offer, like Meta.

It’s so cute to watch people hype this up. Most be younger folk who haven’t lived through the prior 900 fake HL3 hype cycles.

I stalled out on this game. It’s cool but got boring really quickly after an hour or two.

I don’t even need to watch this click bait video to know that the answer is NO.

Yes, the two HL1 expansions are every bit as well known as the original HL1. Everyone knows about them.

It doesn’t always happen even with both devices being 2.1 and the cable being 2.1, lol. But stating that HDMI revisions are not backwards compatible just simply isn’t true.

I don’t think that’s correct. You won’t be able to use 4k60hz with 1.4 that’s for sure, but unless the device only supports like 60hz, it should work if you lower it to 1080p 24hz or whatever fits within the 1.4 bandwidths parameters.

What was the cause? And how do you fix it? I really don’t want to sit through these videos haha. Apologies for my laziness.

Huh? HDMI is backwards compatible. You can use a 2.1 cable with 1.4 devices for example. Unless you meant something else?

You’re not listening to what I said. I said that most people will buy the game and there is not a damn thing you can do about it. Most people are fucking idiots. You can morally decide not to support it by not buying the game, and that’s perfectly reasonable. But it won’t do fucking shit because all the idiots will still buy the game. That’s just how the world works because most people don’t give a fuck. Unless you can personally convince millions of people to change their behavior and agree with you, you not buying the game doesn’t matter.

Absolute dogshit strategy. 99% of people will always buy the game so you not buying won’t matter in the slightest. Unfortunate but true.

She didn’t take the trial of the grasses in W3 though…that was avaloch or whatever his name was.

I sound like a huge nerd here but i believe witchers were created 500 years prior when the humans first got to the continent and encountered monsters. Both humans and monsters came from the conjunction. It is never explained what humans were doing for the first 1000 years after the conjunction (conjunction was 1500 years ago) prior to arriving on the continent. I assume they also had to deal with monsters or maybe the monsters were dropped only on the continent? No idea. The author was unfortunately not very consistent or clear on historic lore. Perhaps it was intended. I’m not sure.

Source: I spent way too much time looking at lore explanations and engaging on forums.

Ah gotchya. Thank you. Yes, in the lore (as best I can remember) there were no witchers during the conjunction. It was when humans first appeared.

Np man. You might want to also consider joining the chimps. I’m sure you would be fed well and someone might actually be able to train you to make hand signals and shit. I think you could really benefit.

Huh? What do you mean? I’m saying i would have liked to play as the first witcher, which would have taken place 400 years or so prior to the first game.

Edit: apologies i misunderstood your comment. See my below response. A game based on the conjunction would have been awesome. Too bad.

Damn dude. Do you work for the circus? I think you could be the lead clown. You’d thrive in that job.
