I personally don’t think it was ever fine, not when there is a giant publisher standing & profiting behind it.
For smol independent studios or even one-man-dev teams (as a high risk “investment”/support) I would understand.
I want to finance devs & artists as much as possible, not lowering financing costs of a giant company (and give them even more monetization opportunities).
Im not familiar with the Pokemon thing you mentioned but that seems like an artificial scarcity. Physical copies could always be stamped overnight (vidya game magazines did it for decades).
Exactly, I don’t want an android console, or e-reader (not even a phone actually, but let’s wait for Linux).
If not for such conveniences, I wouldn’t play as much.
I also use the quick insta-switch to the previous game played. And I like that basically any game even played just automatically remains suspended for you to continue at any time (no need for manually saving states, tho you can set shortcuts for that too ofc).
There are actually like 10 exact same glasses from different manufacturers/brands, from 250-ish moneys upwards (you might need various addition interfaces for your devices, like PC, HDMI, etc - sold separately and unreasonably expensive for what they are).
They all use the same design, Sony OLEDs, speakers, batteries, accessories, etc, they only differ in front design.
Yes, disappointing, but this might not be for the full fov.
It says 50°, and such glasses can be worn on different lengths from the eyes.
Regardless, I agree with you - I absolutely want to see (a lot) more than 1080p of like financial data/code/hentai without moving my head, otherwise I’ll just keep using my office monitors.
I was there, 3000 years ago, the smooth textures in Quake & NFS, and the lighting effects in Unreal and Quake 2.
Tomb Raider had Glide too. So perfectly pointy.
I have the fondest memories of those days & 3Dfx as a brand. I still have my Voodoo 2s (2×12MB) connected in SLI, I should get them a better display (case?) actually.
From the early days of Edvard home designing water blocks to cool our then single core CPUs (before any commercial activity) EK has transformed from an in-house everything approach to basically a ‘brand & design first’ company. And with that, brand and design need to fuel sales growth, not the manufacturing margins per se. Strong branding considerations were def there from the start tho.
Don’t you guys have phones??
