Yeah I basically run on my Samsung Tab S8 plus. Much lighter than a laptop and has everything I need. Also Samsung Dex is great if you’ve never used it. I also have a laptop with Arch Linux but I do most of my work on my tablet. For reference I’m a doctor and I use my personal devices for scholarly work. I use Google docs and refworks as my citation manager.

Yeah. Twitter survived all the backlash but everyone is looking for a way out. That’s why threads gained so much traction on day one. Unfortunately they were missing a lot of key features (like hashtags for example) for people to stick around.

I love how people online care so much about their privacy and bash on Google and Meta because they want to show them some ads. Apple literally lobbied against preventing using Uyghur’s for forced labor. THEY LITERALLY LOBBIED SO THAT CHINA COULD KEEP MAKING THEIR PHONE USING SLAVES.

I’m probably one of those. I joined because it was a low hanging fruit for an instagram user. It is basically twitter culture all over again. People complain that you’re just posting into a void on Mastodon but I get tons of responses over there. The real void is any mainstream social media where only the voice of influencers are amplified. The whole main feed is just 90% suggested posts. Why the fuck do I wanna see a post from Jake Paul or Mr. Beast?

I use Samsung Dex as a daily driver basically. I’m a doctor and I use it to review patient charts on Epic. I also fully transitioned to Google docs+reworks for working on publications. It’s so easy to set up wherever I go. Amazing battery life and incredibly lightweight.
