I can’t imagine an scenario where BG3 doesn’t win the GOTY.

What community?

Stop having match threads and then you can rest assured no soccer community will ever form around here.

My comment was not about the bot but about the human (@[email protected]) that post the match threads for everyone’s benefit.

I am not sure what you call main r/soccer page or separate r/soccer. Perhaps something to do with how you browse reddit. I used to browse reddit with an app (RIF) and old.reddit.com and there was no such separation. Furthermore, they not only have match threads but also post-match threads, goal threads and sometimes threads for red cards, tackles, VAR… and so on.

Obviously we don’t need all that around here but we need at least one post per match thread… That is the bare minimum to have, and that is why I remain strongly opposed to OP.

I am not sure if you just took the advice from one person or if there was proper discussion but know that I think is way better to keep one thread per game. Perhaps we can have more discussion about this, maybe a poll?

BTW, know that your job in this community is impressive and awesome. I am thankful for that. Keep it up!

I am strongly against this recommendation. The reason being that I am very happy with having one quick access post per top level game. That was one of the main features in r/soccer and I consider a luxury that we can have the same approach here in Lemmy.

Not having that will destroy the community for me.

BG3 is critically acclaimed and on path to win every GOTY award this year. Taking this into consideration any game compared against BG3 may look lackluster, not just Starfield.

I didn’t play these games yet but I did play The Outer Worlds and it was acceptable to me. If Starfield is a game along the same lines then I am OK with that.

With this game it always seem to be more profitable to keep it in development forever rather than releasing it.

I cannot help you with BG3 as I have not bought it yet.

Having said that, and knowing other games from the same developer, I guess BG3 is probably friendly enough to new players to CRPG. Just be warned that it is probably also overwhelming (I played the last two games and they took me more than 100 hours each).

Why you dropped it?

What other games you played in the genre?

I’m just a little bit late to the Baldurs Gate 3 party,

Late? As a patient gamer I would say you got in early. :)

I played most of the mainstream CRPG, including multiple Larian Studios titles and I have no doubt that I will play BG3 as well… But probably in a year or two after the game gets some polish and, hopefully, a discount.

BTW, thanks for posting and generating content in Lemmy.

I am no complaining. I have played the game for many hours, and also many of the million clones that came afterwards.

The developer worked designing slots for the gambling industry before.

Part his game mechanics are really addictive as they are similar to how people gets addicted to gambling (lootboxes, coins, spins, colorful lights, win animations, sounds similar to slots machines).

I got the bundle just for this game. I had it on my Wishlist for a while.

Fell Seal: Arbiter’s Mark

It doesn’t fit all your requirements but I think you may like it.

Looking forward for this remake. I hope this time Piranha Bytes goes back to their roots and don’t attempt to go mainstream as they did with Elex 2.

For reference, this is my list of PB games ranked from best to worst:

Gothic>Gothic 2>Elex>Risen 3>Risen>Gothic 3>Elex 2>Risen 2

Is this the first game ever that Blizzard releases on Steam? Or I am wrong?

I know is highly unlikely but I hope they release their flagship games on Steam some day… For example Diablo IV.

Kenshi is without doubt the answer to OP.

I stopped playing and disliked the game because I felt too small and insignificant, all the time.

When I got a PC with the novel CD-ROM I convinced my father to take me to a pc store and buy me some games to try it.

I got The 7th Guest and Myst… I played them for a few hours and didn’t understand anything. I guess I wasn’t their intended audience.

This one got me interested, added it to my wishlist. Thanks!

I considered reading about game series but it must be a series that interest me, sadly that is not the case with Halo and MechWarrior. Thanks for your recommendations anyway of course.

Thanks for your advice but I am pretty sure that is not what I am looking for (source: I did start a programing career in college eons ago but lose interest and become a dropout. :)).

As an avid midlife gamer with nostalgic interest in gaming history I enjoy reading gaming books. In this picture you can see the gaming books I own. My favorite is "Masters of Doom" followed by "The Ultimate History of Video Games" (I am aware there is a second volume). I would like to hear more recommendations from you. P. S: Note that PC gaming is my thing therefore it is highly unlikely that I will get a book about consoles or console games.
