FIFA 99, Need for Speed : Underground, The Sims 2, C&C : Red Alert 2, SSX3, Black and White, LOTR 2 & 3, Burnout 3, Battlefield Vietnam, …

There was a time when they were good, but they fell out of grace in the second half of the 2000s

I can’t agree with you on this one. Sometimes, I think this is the kind of detail that benefits other games : the assets are there and can be reused, in other forms.

Plus, sometimes it’s better to make one great game than a plethora of good games.

RDR2 wasn’t my cup of tea but I have nothing bad to say about this game. It was a masterpiece, in all aspects and in all comes down, at the end, to the attention given to trivial things such as horse testicles.

I believe The Last of Us II actually portrayed this one thing oerfectly. At the beginning you can feel some of Ellie’s hesitation as she comes upon death, but the more the story unfolds and the more she becomes psychopathic. It’s hinted and it’s shown. The last Act of the game is her giving in to her PTSD. I think that, for once, this is absolutely brilliant.

The hell house fight is when I stopped playing the game. I think they did a good work with FFVII Remaster but… I also think that it’s really bad that you can’t go back to a place and go farming, that the materias cannot be moved so if you tried something that you did not like then tough luck fighting with whatever team you have.

Plus, I really miss the farming and the lack of “let me just fight some monsters for the sake of it”.

For a long time I thought KH to be the best game ever but… It is ! When you’re a teenager, when you’re going through angst. But when you’re a grown up, it is not as good.

It has to be Riku in Kingdom Hearts. He takes about 5 minutes or more to tell you that your path ends there and he actually delivers. Then he tells it again when you inevitably try again, because you can’t skip the bloody cutscene.

For me, it has got to be tetris. It is still thriving, even today. Anyone can understand the base concept and play it : it’s simple and enjoyable, anywhen. Plus, it runs on remotely anything.

If you really liked BG3 you might also like Neverwinter Nights 2 and DA:O. I heard there was a remaster of Neverwinter Nights 2 in the works, maybe give it a try when it comes out.

There are a lot of answers, mine will be drowned but… there it is. In no particular order :

  • Final Fantasy X
  • Clair Obscur : Expedition 33
  • Baldur’s Gate 3
  • Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2 (but you had to be there when it came out)
  • Metal Gear Solid 3
  • Shadow Hearts : Covenant
  • Kya : Dark Lineage (the bugs were a feature)
  • Horizon : Zero Dawn
  • Megaman (any megaman will do)
  • Crash Bandicoot Trilogy
  • Spyro Trilogy
  • Pokemon Yellow/Crystal/Emerald
  • Pokemon Jade (yes that bootleg version)
  • The Last of Us (pt. I & II)
  • Astroneer
  • GTA : Vice City
  • Unreal Tournament 2004
  • CS 1.6 played in the most dirty lan at your disposal
  • Control
  • Tetris
  • Neverwinter Nights 2
  • Dragon Age : Origins
  • Quake III
  • Bomberman

Edit : May this post serve as a remembrance not to suggest an easy mode on FromSoftware game 😁

It works surprisingly well. As long as you don’t update both databases offline, that is. In that case there will be a conflicted copy :)

I have not encountered this problem yet, I use the keepass database synced on my phone and 3 other computers.
