Pleasantly surprised nexus mods weren’t being goons in this scenario

You 1000% will not get lost in the noise if you put out a helldivers like quality game. There’s nerds everyday combing through steam store looking for the next great games. Helldivers with zero marketing would have made significantly less but still been a resounding commercial success

There’s no hidden gems in steam. Games sell as well as they should for their quality. There’s margin of error of course like a low quality game sells on the higher end due to good marketing or a high quality game sells low end due to poor marketing.

Most games are just not great

What would a better option look like? Steam user experience is great. Games are cheap entertainment. What more could you ask for?

I wish talking to people wasn’t all the same canned question/responses. Trying to find witnesses is basically impossible. And security systems turning themself back on after set amount of time. Only two big issues I have with the game

For cross-platform support, direct level editing and changes to core game elements (like story, cinematics, dialogues, quests, and local gameplay adjustments) can’t be facilitated due to technical constraints and platform-specific guidelines.

Damn that doesn’t sound promising but they don’t specify if adding new areas will be supported.

Make mods sandboxed and add ability to create meta mods for tooling. Idk if that could be done securely but would extend the life of bg3 to forever basically

Valve used to make games, now they make money

As someone who has purchased and played. Idk what all the hype is about. For a city builder there’s a distinct lack of management options. And its pretty shallow. Just get a bunch of ox to build shit quick

Bought it expecting to be blown away. It’s kinda lack luster so far. Pawns are very buggy constantly getting stuck. All building is basically gated by how many ox you have to drag wood around. And they always seem to go for the farthest felled log instead of taking from stock pile that’s much closer. And if your switching family jobs it swaps first family out by default which isn’t ideal for many reasons and going through menu to choose what family is painful.

Not sure what all the hype is about. Four point system to choose house plots? It’s cool but not that cool lol

Hope difficulty scaling isn’t as crazy as mistlands. Many painful corpse runs. Had to cheese a lot of the area which just felt cheap and I put the game down without even fighting that boss. Just didn’t sound fun if it was like the rest of mistlands

It’s been less than two years since major patch. Mistlands was released Nov ‘22

Lying to community - promised no paid dlc then sold out to tencent who surprise pushes out paid dlc

Screwing over modders - helicopters in game and some maps were rumored to have been stolen from modders

Taking fun mechanics and making them unfun - prime example here people progressing too fast so splitting classes up and wiping xp

The list goes on but I don’t remember all the little things. It’s been years since I was big into squad

Offworld is case study on how you can repeatably shoot yourself in the foot and still succeed

Hotfixes are due to serious issues. If it wasn’t Hotfix than probably not but I’m sure the people that were impacted by this fix would appreciate this announcement

It’s so dumb. Instead of struggling with AI to do what your employees did you could make your workforce 20% more productive using AI. Go further faster

This is what happens when a game engine is bought by an advertising company

Cyberpunk 2077 CD project red was the golden boy after Witcher 3 and the dlcs. They could do no wrong. Of course their next game was gonna be critically acclaimed GOAT right? Nope. Dumpster fire. Couldn’t play it for more than 30mins without it crashing. Unimmersive and confusing. That’s when I learned corporate greed has no limits
