FWIW, a 20% drop is borderline catastrophic for a major company. The squeeze it puts on their supply chain, ability to make payroll, and interest rates on borrowing going up, it could be enough to create a death spiral. I think ubisoft is probably managed well enough to deal with this, but this is definitely a serious situation for them.
I feel somewhat the same on single player, but this is competitive GAAS, and they knew exactly what they were doing when they did it here. People who do this seriously already know every map, every spawn and every weapons characteristics within three days. (I’m wrong about this see below) This is simply another pay to win mechanic for the kind of people who play 12 hours a day, reach max rank in three days and hunt rookies who didn’t spend the extra money to play early.

I have been corrected and apologize for the mistake. It is not competitive and that mostly renders my point moot. I’m leaving this here for posterity.
Hey it’s Lemmy, so I will happily use this opportunity to blame rich people as well. I know people doing very well for themselves, who constantly, say, “yeah it sucks, but I’ve got the money and it doesn’t hurt me so who cares?”
Because they’re so completely unable to to think of ANYONE else in a different situation, or even remember their younger selves, that they will continue to incentivize predatory behavior because “fuck you, I got mine”, and they’re such huge pieces of self involved shit that they won’t delay their gratification for a split second to help out an entire industry’s consumers.
If that sound harsh, it’s been a shit day full of people just like that; decide on your own if it applies here.

Also, holla at whoever said “No One Lives Forever”; that game rules.
I played it back on the PS4. My memory is that I enjoyed the vast majority of it, and was pretty completionist on that one. Mostly because the world and environments are hauntingly beautiful. I enjoyed riding slowly through the world, almost never using travel, and exploring the nooks and crannies. If that’s your bag I think you might like it. But The story does go through some contortions to fill out the play time.
