That one feature in the blog the article doesn’t talk about at all is called FRP and they aren’t saying it’s new they’re saying they’re upgrading it.
We’re making it more difficult to do that with an upgrade to Android’s factory reset protection.
And the reason for that is that FRP is easily bypassed if your phone isnt locked. Among other bypasses.
Right, not only do I not have a problem with this - but it SHOULD be rewarded.
Personally I beat the v1.1 version of the game back in Oct 2016 - but I purchased the game a second time on android because a) i wanted to support a cross platform port and b) the guy really deserves it.
I like it when I have the option to support a developer more, but it isn’t expected or required.
Ah yeah I see your point I suppose - i didn’t think that’s the line that would hang people up though. By definition of the theory of the singularity is that it will be blisteringly quick - though that’s my word for how quick it will be. The whole concept that the last 50 years equivalent of tech advance will be achieved in the next 25, and so on … to the point that it creates the singularity. I think we will see it in our lifetimes and it’s going to be much closer than people are comfortable with.
If by AI he means LLM or generative AI then sure. But LLM and GenAI are not truly AI in the full sense of the meaning. They’re building blocks to it. A mind is more complex. The singularity still approaches at blistering speed.
Edit: downvotes don’t change the fact that these "AI"s are not intelligent. It’s a misnomer by ppl who want to sell you shit. https://bigthink.com/the-future/artificial-general-intelligence-true-ai/
Project has been slow is an understatement. Lawn chair was definitely a contender but with complete lack of updates over SEVERAL years - it’s abandonware and should be treated as such.
I don’t think devs or users really care about launchers in 2024. I still use Nova but only because there is nothing better.
Probably one of the best games I ever played. I came for the visuals because I finally got an RTX card and stayed for the halflife vibes.
It’s the closest thing I’ve played to OG halflife. You get that similar feel of isolation and heroism, a lot of WTF is going on, some weird entity that is omnipresent, great gun play and action, and is almost entirely indoors. Story is more robust like HL2 evolved the genre.
yeah at the time you were forced into it. the won servers were shut down and most peoples computers werent good enough to play CS and have this clunky software running in the background at the same time. it worked but alt-tabbing back then was a gong show and you definitely had the performance hit.
i played CS daily then so the first day was a shit show and I dont think I got much time in that day. mostly just trying to get connected…the servers were overloaded.
Is that true? Most of the best public trackers got shut down. Anything left has bots recording your IP and you’re getting a letter from your ISP.
If you’re not on a private ratio tracker or paid tracker it’s basically a non starter. So I’m not sure about unaffected era the last 10 years have been brutal for pirates via torrent.
It’s not, because downloading assets was not working, and with it not working eventually the user will shut it down thus having an effect on peak concurrent. It’s not even that complex. If people can play your game they will stay on it increasing the count, if people cannot play your game they will not, thus decreasing the count.
