The vortex was never supposed to be damage dealing. It was just a way to temporarily remove part of an enemies army to deal with the rest, and then when those came back you can deal with that. Many players chose to not let their army split up so they would force whatever didn’t make it into the vortex in, effectively just putting the entire fight on pause until the vortex finished.
Then the archons started jumping into the toilet. And hilarity ensued causing a match ending play when the splash damage of the archons would wipe an entire army.
My biggest gripe still is the planet that has an absolute embargo on it, ships stopping anyone from entering, a planet obliterated by the monsters, frozen over. You land, do the mission, and then right outside there’s multiple POI with settlers just casually living, pirate bases just generically there. Like they couldn’t even stop the POI’s from spawning on the one planet that should have been abandoned.
Not op but I too give it 6 or 7. I liked the story. I liked shooting things. I liked the dialogue. I liked the base building. Liked the graphics, it was super quick for me on my 4900 xt. But everything was liked. Not loved. It was mediocre in everything. The POI were fun, but there are like 10 that get recycled. I like the planets but they’re also recycled. I like the cities but they’re all the size of a tiny town. It’s fun but it was sold as something grand which undersold it’s promises. First colony outside of earth, biggest civilization, has like a population of 100 if that. They should have sold the entire story as worlds on the rim. Not the hub of humanity.
Oh so good. The combat was amazing for someone who was concerned how dueling would be integrated into a video game. The puzzles great. Story great. Cut scenes great. Flying on the broom with absolutely beautiful views. But I like Harry potter. But the game is it’s own beauty. I put in around 200 hours before beating it almost 100%.
And it’s funny you mentioned kids, I played this with my 5 year old daughter and maybe that’s why I enjoyed it so much because she enjoyed it. It’s not really a pg game, but I tried to keep it friendly for her when she watched.
Hey this is awesome thanks so much for all the pointers. I’m starting to get a hang of it. Maybe 50 runs in or so and made it to that dark level and had enough money for that new shiny bomb (the light bomb) and while reading it I started taking damage. I got confused and started attacking but I quickly died. Lmao apparently the dark kills you. I’m starting to use the wiki a little now.
I’ve pretty much exclusively been using melee and the red scrolls. I noticed one run I had 8 red and 1/1 and died with full health in what felt like 1 hit I was like wtffff. And then realized I was maybe 300 health or so? I should have been in the 1k by then and forgot to distribute to get max health benefit.
I’ll try the training room. I beat death today by taking it slow. Just got the ram so I can break those stupid floors lol. Thanks to the wiki. Lot of cool Easter eggs. Loved the gordan crowbar as I’m an avid HL fan.
Yeah it was definitely beginners luck. I killed the concierge and died a map or 2 later. Since then I think I’ve done 25 runs and got to the concierge twice. But I am just trying to bull rush in. I’m embarrassed to say I’ve died in the first encounter so many times from that stupid shield zombie and jumping one. I can’t get the parry right. They do this stupid grunt then I parry then they jump. And if I wait for the “!” they do this weird timing if I hit them. Still getting used to it.
But I got rickety wrekt by death in the castle map. I thought I was doing so effing good, got him down to phase 2 (about 1/3 health down) and with 1.4k health he killed me in a 3 hit combo, first hit taking half my life down and I got so blown away that I just missed wtf happened next. Game is very unforgiving.
I haven’t tried any of the enhancements or crutches. Which I’m a father of 3 kids, one a new born and I’m not good like I used to be. I might check out some cheats to make things a little smoother for me.
Thanks! Yeah I’ll try with controller. Just did 2 runs with it and died both times in the second map. Just getting used to it. It’s much better with controller but my Xbox pro controller is so trash that the recoil of flicking my move button changes my direction which was annoying. I had to mess with the dead zone. I play brawlhalla on controller so the dodge button is messing with me lol
With m&k on my very first run playing the game I got past the first boss and died with like 8k gold. I got far. But I got a good combo I think. I’m looking forward to the steep learning. I beat hades 100% so I’m looking forward to synergies.
It’s fine. Solid 8/10. Once modding community gets the creation kit it’ll be better. I personally feel starfield was more interesting the first 50 hours than skyrim was. Skyrim has a little bit more lore and depth but starfield is solid. It just promises so much. Skyrim is like fleshed out sears, starfield is like a strip mall with infrastructure for more, but empty.
I put 250 hours into starfield. I won’t go play new game plus until creation kits comes. I had to play with some UI fixes, crafting changes, and a dozen or so mods that made starfield more my style of game, but that made it fun for me.
Out of the box. Eh. It’s fine. But what the community can do is why I bought it. And people need to quit saying “the modders fix the game for the lazy developers!”. That’s not the case. Bethesda came out with a game that is OK as is, but it’s because Bethesda always had a strong modding community that Bethesda embraced that makes the game better, and will be better when we get creation kit.
Yeah kinda. I bought it to play the stock game with a few tweaks. But when creation kit comes out I’ll be back. And then again. And again.
People have thousands of hours into skyrim. You think that game has more than 100 hours of content? It’s years of going back and enjoying mods and the community surrounding them.
Yeah Bethesda profits off it. But you’d be surprised how many people pirated the game, eventually just buying the “goty” edition on sale.
I beg to differ. It’s the most beautiful of the Bethesda games by far, very immersive without having to have the main character have dialogue (fallout 4). Tons of items, crafting, research, outposts, ships. This game is huge. Absolutely love it.
I’ve played oblivion, skyrim and fallout 3 and 4. While it’s similar engine of game, this game blew it out of the park.
Really? Satisfactory ran so smooth for me I was like what engine is this
