A retail listing for the upcoming processor has seemingly confirmed that the upcoming Intel flagship will boost all the way up to 6.2GHz.

Don’t worry about missing out on the performance of the 14900KS for gaming, though, as the cheaper Ryzen 7 7800X3D is likely to be just as quick, if not more so, in many games.

Sounds great, but based on what?

It is P4 vs Athlon all over again.

Didn’t we see something similar in the fx days, with amd being the loser?

Intel adopted a fast release cycle after the Netburst P4 days. They were able to stay dominant until they dumped that strategy in like 2017.

That is what surprises me with this announcement: we moved a while ago from a more powerful, limited number of cores to smaller, more numerous, and less consuming cores. Power consumption increases to the square of the frequency of the processor, so what is the advantage of moving away from that model?

Headlines.

No one should buy this.

Ah, Perfect for scrambling eyes

Edit: Eggs

Could probably cook an eye on it too

Nice. In a few more generations my home office should be able to double as my boiler room.

Nice. Should be hot enough to make coffee

*AMD releases 6.9GHz

Ayoooo

Fastest ever stock CPU sure. But I believe there was some old AMD CPU that got overclocked to more than 8Ghz!
