I’m looking for suggestions to play on my upcoming PC upgrade, since I feel the only “impressive new games” are medieval with no fantasy or military/modern shooters—nothing wrong with those, this just makes me feel like there aren’t many games of my taste after all.
No hate against 2D games, they’re my favorites in fact! I pretty much played them all though, and I’m in the mood for something 3D lol.

How are you for Business Sims?
Big Ambitions is a fun early access game made by the same dude as Startup Company and is actively being developed.
You run around 4 areas of New York setting up and running various retail and office businesses ranging from fast food, gift shops, clothes store, green grocer.
Witcher 3 is probably up your alley.
If you want impressive fantasy adventures then it doesn’t get much more epic than “God Of War” which came out last year on pc.
How do you feel about JRPGs? The “Tales of…” series is on Steam and combat in them is real-time (though it doesn’t take place on the world map).
You should try the alpha version of Cube World.
Some games I’ve enjoyed in no particular order:
Dragon’s dogma should be good for graphical testing, the original was beautiful for the time and the previews of the sequel look good already.
Plus the game is just fantastic
If you like it old-skool-style, wizordum just got released in early access. There’s a playable demo as well
I recently played Raji An Ancient Epic. Kind of prince of Persia like, but with fantastical temples and palaces made with Indian mythology. Very pretty game if a bit basic in gameplay
