AAA industry is doing great and still pumping out great games. This seems more of some surface level “indie good, AAA bad” nonsense that I don’t much value in.

There are plenty of great games out there and trying to turn gaming into some purity test is unnecessary.

AAA did it to themselves. Indie games are merely a second production style

Yeah. I’d argue two main things that have turned many against AAA games

  1. Paid (especially on disc) DLC
  2. Microtransactions everywhere.

Third, for me at least, is the price. $60-70 for 4-8 hours of mediocre gameplay with Call of Duty vs. $20 for 30+ hours of great gameplay with CrossCode.
